Jaguar XKR 2009 (2010MY) Cooling System/Pipe Question
Morning all,
I have noticed my XKR has begun to lose a little coolant of late. I have had a good nosey around the engine bay and identified the source of the leak/two pipes which appear to have been repaired prior to my ownership of the vehicle but one has unfortunately began to leak again now.
I have attached a couple of pictures to show the pipes in question, am I correct in thinking that I should be able to replace these pipes with an off the shelf pipe I cut to length myself rather than requiring a Jaguar specific part presuming the plastic connector itself hasn't failed? If so, are any of you knowledgeable folks able to provide any information in regards to required specification/diameter of pipe required?
Equally, any Jaguar part numbers for the offending items would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,
Russ
Edit - C2P13304 appears to be the part I'm looking for. Is anyone able to confirm?

If that is the pipe which is leaking then you need to replace the whole thing not just a part of it, as the two thin black tubes on the RH end (looking from the front of the engine) are integral to it and so are the connectors/clips for those two tubes.
On my F-Type one of those tubes/pipes (the upper one) cracked near the end connection and I replaced the whole thing, and it looks almost identical to yours and the one in the linked ad (although it is a different part number).
When I removed the OEM pipe those two thin tubes and the connectors were extremely brittle and the connectors disintegrated, yours will surely be the same given its age, so any repair is bound to fail.
Just buy and fit the new part as it is fairly cheap and not that hard to fit.
Top tip - the lower connector (on the longer of the two small tubes) is a bit fiddly to fit, I used a longish flat blade screwdriver to poke it into place and then push/lever the connector home.

See my previous post, I am fairly sure the OP is talking about the plastic/rubber overflow tank pipe and not the big cross-over pipe top/front which is already alloy anyway on the older AJ133. It wasn't until 2012 that JLR in their infinite wisdom decided to replace that perfectly good alloy pipe with a crappy welded seam two-piece plastic pipe which is prone to split and leak. Then in around 2017 JLR woke up to the defective pipe and replaced it with a one-piece (but still plastic) version, then about a year ago the after-market came out with an alloy version (and the lower pipe it connects to under the SC). However these new alloy pipes won't fit the earlier (pre-2012) AJ133 like the OP has.

Thanks for the replies guys. To confirm, you are correct, the existing pipe is brittle and snapped whilst trying to release from its retaining clip.
Thankfully, all is good and C2P13304 should be landing on my door step tomorrow with any luck. A sub £45 repair is more than pleasing I must admit, its just a shame JLR (and I'm sure other manufacturers too) utilise plastic in a cooling system but I guess cost is the ultimate driver and in fairness, to the best of my knowledge, the existing part has survived circa 13 years.
