Default Jaguar XKR-S Carbon Fiber Engine Cover

In case you missed my post in the classifieds section. I have an XKR-S carbon fiber engine cover for sale. I purchased it for different XKR-S but that deal fell through. I've since purchased another XKR-S that came with the carbon fiber cover so I have this one for sale. More details can be found on the classifieds section of the forum and I've also posted it on eBay...

It's fancy and a good deal for someone determined to have it. For most it's a lot of coin for something rarely seen - if ever.

That's a lot of coin for something which adds very little to enjoyment, appearance, or performance. I can get an upper pulley change and an ECU tune which will add 100hp of enjoyment to my ride for 1/2 the price of the engine cover. Personally the cover is worth only $100 to me. No offense but it's like spending $2,000 on a pair of underwear.

None taken. We all perceive value and gain enjoyment in different ways. That what's makes us all unique. I am sure you are NOT in the minority with your opinion.

Haha, most of us are going to feel the same way my fiancée felt when to her I spent 4 times what she has ever paid for a car for my xkr - a weekend car.

For someone looking for this its a helluva deal. Value is subjective.

If anyone is considering doing their own engine cover on the XK/XKR/XKR-S you might want to seriously consider:

Water Transfer and Hydrographic Printing - H2O Printers Hydro Printing - Hydro-graphic Water-Transfer Hydro-Dipping Printing Services

You can create a "custom" engine cover and just about any other car part, grilles, etc with the Hydrographics process at a fraction of the cost of a cover as seen above.

Check these guys out, located in the Houston, Texas area.

This quite an interesting process and state-of-the-art technology. There is a interesting video on the dipping process.

This is all Hydro-graphics. I found the key is having a good clear coat applied.

I am impressed with this technology.

I don't think the hydro-graphics works well on fabric, so a new underwear line might not work for men. For women, nowadays many are going commando style anyway.

Not only is commando cheaper, it is also lighter, more aero dynamic and less expensive to maintain. Should check oil Le El with dipstick often.

LOL!!!

Some modern day models are self servicing. They just let you know when its time to lubricate.

I also would vouch for hydro dipping. I did some pieces on my Rover. Was thinking of doing some hydro dipping carbon fiber pattern for the XKR but decided to do real carbon fiber overlay.

Here's some of my hydro dipped parts: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...verlay-110528/
