For me, a Jag interior means clear leather, walnut burl and chrome touches. That's what I wanted and got for mine.
If I wanted a black with alu trims, i.e. an Audi interior, well heck, I'd get an Audi...
That being said, spun alu looks nice...when used with the right colours.
For lack of an XK pic, for lack of spun alu, you'll get a C2 Vette with plain alu...but this shows it looks stunning with brown (darker - think cocoa - would look even better):
red:
or anything in between:

It was an option on my 2009 model. I am not sure it was even available in 2010.
It was an option on the 2010, but still uncommon in most cars. Seems like most people who didn’t go with wood went with piano black. I also think the brushed aluminum looks better in person and everyone really does compliment it. It gives it more of a spy feel and it suits the two door style.
I'm into the traditional leather/wood for my British cars. That said, the aluminum is interesting. Does have some life. Maybe appropriate for high per XKR-S? Drove an 06 XKR VE w Carbon Fiber dash. Interior was black. To each his own but thought the mix was truly ugly.

I agree. I think for me, the XKR 5.0 supercharged is sporty enough for my style that I can merit the aluminum dash. But I think the car is in one of those in between spaces since it’s technically a GT, not a clear cut true sports car like the f-type. But to me it is a bit more sporty than many GT cars. I can see how the XKR-S would possibly be the entry point to start removing the wood for most people. I prefer the wood in most as well. But obviously the F-Type is the other way around because wood may be a preference for many, but to me that doesn’t suit it as well.
