I do like the SUV's, I wouldn't own one as they are too smallish, but in the size class they compete in I think they are a nice design. The departure from the "bespoke" models like the XK and the XJ is disappointing. Jaguar was always about the beautiful leather clad and wood interiors, that luxury feel. This morphing into an Audi or BMW wannabe lineup really blows.

I'll never buy a newer Jaguar just based on the amount the UK govt charge for road tax on £40k+ cars from 2017 onwards.
If I'm going to pay a premium it will be on a 2019 Bentley CGT onwards.
I may be tempted with a 16 plate F 2.0D portfolio F-pace though for moving daughter to Uni next year. Problem is finding a colour combo that I like as detest oatmeal/ivory interiors (too old man) and won't have a red/black/white exterior as too common. No blues (my fave) currently available with black pack and dark interior, so will keep searching.

Jaguar should have continued the XJ with a design like this one. It's clearly an evolutionary update of the current X351 model, gorgeous and unlike anything else on the road.
Just my .

Two years ago there was "to be" a mid-engine Jaguar by model year 2022.
Yeah, okay.
Jaguar will introduce Mid Engine Sports Car by 2022

I'm disappointed in Jaguar's current product line as it seems to be missing the cachet it had historically and up until the discontinuance of the XJ with no replacement in sight. As to the future product line, a switchover to EV's is inevitable. Right now I'm in a wait and see mode regarding the future Jaguar product line.

All too true. Jaguar seems a bit lost at the moment.
What ever happened to “make a stand... and own it”?
@Cee Jay has a point. I bought my first “New” Jaguar, a 1999 4.0 l S-Type S (w CATS) as the marketing with Sting was so popular.
And I’ll say it out loud: this suv theme is just SO boring.
The current theme of teslamania also bores me. I’d take a Karma Revero over a Tesla any day. Why? Because of the design work.
Remember those days when Jaguar design choices established the standard as opposed to merely copy others...

Above is a scene from the movie "Crazy People". Dudley Moore, the salesman, is explaining to Paul Reiser, the buyer, that this ad tells Jaguar owners to have their cars washed and polished by hand, preferably by a woman with a soft touch, in order to keep the paint like new.
I know it's an old ad, but it's still true today.

The iPace and ePace are on cable TV quite often. Usually based on profiles of "hip" people and how their Jag fits into their life. Jaguar is after a much different consumer than they had be catering to for decades. I don't think they care about attrition of life long or multi generation Jaguar consumers.

Except that is not entirely a Jaguar product, it’s a custom fabricated bumper for the first gen X150 to give it the appearance of the third gen XKR-S and as such isn’t finished quite the same as the true R-S. If perhaps it had been finished properly, it wouldn’t be so hideous. So yes this one off is poorly finished and indeed looks like a catfish head unless you’re saying the true R-S looks the same to you.

The main problem with Jaguar over the recent years is they're trying too hard to be a German premium brand. But they're not and will never be. It's an uphill, losing battle.
And above all, in the process, they've lost their identity, their DNA, that really made them stand out.
A shining example...if you go from this:
...to that:
...you know there's definitely a loss of your identity.
