PPI this week, and then shipping. Now to try the patience until she gets here.
Now on the to do list:
-White XKR drop top mod
-Buy a charger
-Put a new battery in her on receipt (thinking going with a Diehard Gold since I can't get an interstate with AGM)
Considering:
-XPEL clear bra
-Blacking out rims, chrome between taillights, hood vents, grille, chrome on side vent
Been looking on and off for 8 months, can't believe it happened.

Welcome!!!! And that is one great looking car!!! As I tell everyone. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mines!! Can't speak to the mods.....it's your baby, dress her as you see fit..
With the known battery drain issues and going into the car blind as to how the battery has been treated, a couple hundred for a new one that I know is in top order is well worth the outlay to me. I don't wait for vehicles to have their battery expire, I just replace and then make sure to go with top quality brands (Interstate in my x308, Die Hard in my boats)
@slee
Good point on the tan top. I was going to try plastidip before making any commitments if I do anything at all. Though I will likely leave it stock. Priority is on the other projects.
Also as I remember other items on the to do list off the bat:
1. Figure out how to stream audio (spotify on android is how I keep most of my music)
2. Do the metal pedals
3. Metal shifter covers
4. Jaguar sticker on gear selector
5. Pull fuse 19
6. Place an over/under bet with friends how long the first pair of rear tires lasts...
7. Full detail, likely going to try and go with one of the new coatings
I am sure I will think of more. I actually ordered a wind deflector before the car (I put the cart before the horse, but that's now straightened out).
Congratulations! I have a son heading for Purdue this fall, maybe I will see you down 65 somewhere. It looks like I may be the first to say I like the blacked out wheels. But I am with the rest...its your artwork, do what you like. If you are not sure you can try black then clear plasti-dip. You can power wash and peel it off if you don't like it (or like it so much you want permanent paint). I used it on my Gray '01 and it lasted over 2 years and probably would have gone more since I only handwash my cars. Jac
The battery drain issue can occur with a new battery also! The issue isn't limited to when a battery is close to failure, it has to do with the high level of draw vs the amount of charge the car is putting into the battery. Not to mention driving frequency and patterns. Having a fresh battery is not a bad idea but you could have the battery tested to see if it is good or not. I have pestered you enough about this so won't bring it up anymore...
I think white with black trim and rims will look great, too bad the top isn't black as it would look even better. I glanced at cars.com and there are both combo's, they both look fantastic!!!
A very nice car...but I have never understood why people want wheels that look as though they are permanently blackened with brake dust. IMHO this car ( and every car, for that matter) looks better with silver wheels. But everyone has a right to make his Jaguar his own.
Do get a CTEK charger and use it to guarantee zero electronic issues.

I always thought black wheels looked like an older car with its hubcaps missing/stolen or running on spare tires.
Black does hide brakedust though, so that is a bonus. Less washing!
The blacked up white/tan vert picture above does look really odd.

I realize it is an overly conservative approach and won't solve the issue. I have a CTEK in the amazon shopping cart already (waiting to pull the trigger incase she shoes up with one hiding). Already looking at the slick setup that is pictured in the 'last straw' thread.
Also, thank you for the pictures. That definitely gives me a taste of what I would be getting into. Not sure if I will persue this option or not. Beauty of plastidip is I can always try and then change my mind.
All, understand the opinions on the coloring. As for the rim color, hiding the brake dust is part of the appeal, as I have heard they pads tend to dust very heavily.
The good news is she is getting a new top fitted (not on my dime), the bad news is that will delay me getting her into my hands. After top is fit, then I will PPI. Hoping to PPI before the end of the week at least. Knowing my luck, it will show up immediately before the holiday. (Towing so need a truck for the weekend).
I think black trim looks great on white cars. White has little contrast and the black helps give it some. But I agree the tan top looks weird with black trim.
Since you say you are getting a new top, the timing is perfect, I'd recommend going to black instead of tan. Black is sportier. Look at the pic in the post above.
As far as streaming, I assume you have the factory iPod dock, all you need a. Tune to air Bluetooth adapter for Apple (since that is what Jaguar uses) and you'll be able to stream from your android.
