Just joined and duckbill solution
Hi all
Well, haven't really just joined, but I have been active on the UK forum primarily, now I've moved to this forum, and get the daily mail.
"Sad" to see the duckbill is still annoying people and expensive and cumbersome solutions are utilised. Please, anybody that has the duckbill issue, read the post below. You can fix the duckbill in one hour, no tools required other than a sharp blade and some ducttape, no borecope needed. Please spread the word and let's stop spending $$$ to fix this stupid problem... Thanks :-)

Hello Mate
Thanks for posting. Now that you have succeeded in doing what seems to be the impossible from above, make it a habit of closing all of the vents and setting the blower to "high". This will pressurize the system and help to keep that little bugger open, as well as, expel any "stuff" that collects in the tube.

Good idea, though I would say it mostly applies to those that hasn't butchered the duckbill with a knifeblade like I have. That thing will never hold water again, guaranteed.
One more thing to mention: When you have water on your carpet, fix immediately. I couldn't as I discovered this on the first day of my vacation last year. That cost me a new blower motor and the resistance thingy that overheats when the blower motor stops cooling it down.
