Default Just saw a new XKRS GT

Stopped at the dealer this morning and they had a new white XKR-S GT in the service area. I got the chance to check it out. Nice car! The only thing that doesn't work for me is the wing on the back.I thought it was odd when I saw pictures of it. And seeing it in person didn't help. Maybe it's just me but I think it ruins the lines of the car and is a little over the top. Porsche's retracting version to me is a better way to go.

Porsche's retractable wing doesn't put down near as much down force as the monster on the back of the XKR-S GT.

It is more comparable to the big wing on the Porsche GT3, IMO.

As for ruining the lines...I don't think that was even a consideration. You have an XK/XKR if you want lines. The XKR-S GT is all about function over form.

Too bad you couldn't take any pics!

I'm going back over there this afternoon. If it's still there, I'll take some pics. Stay tuned.

The rear spoiler is hideous--it destroys the look. Looks ricer after market.

Rather have an RS with a 175 spoiler.... I am keeping the carbon fiber spoiler on my 2013 red XKRS just so that it remains 100% factory stock....but id really love a 175 spoiler on it instead!!!

I couldn't agree more. When I saw it, I had an urge to hang laundry on it.

I love the car as its a track car although I'd agree the wing is not something I'd desire on a street car. With a track/race car (if its taken there or not) form always follows function. I've seen some P GT3s with full cages and huge wings that I'd hate to drive on the street but they are gems on the track. Like it or not I love the fact that jaguar is pushing the performance limits of a production car, as the benefits will only trickle down to lesser models in the future. If anything they are building the jaguar name to be synonymous with performance which I personally find very exciting for the future. This "new" Jaguar is what enticed me to look at the XKR and I know its also done the same for a some of my friends whom have purchased F-Types in the past few months.
