Key Not Recognized
Was having some problems starting my 2011 XKR and traced it down to a bad battery. Replaced the battery and all was well. BUT now, it does not recognized the key and I have to put the key in the slot in the compartment between the seats to start.
Now what. I checked the key fob battery and it is good but replaced it anyway. Same results ???

Lots of information in the linked thread below. Good news is that at worst it might be $160 at the dealer if you cant get it to relearn itself.

Use a piece of aluminum foil to make a small shim and place it under the battery. If that works, you saved yourself from the expense of having that fob reprogrammed. It's worth a try, and worked for me!
Good luck!

if its thickness of the battery you need, there are others in the series you can get. the dimensions are right there in the name: 2032, 20mm diameter, 3.2mm thick. they're all 3V nominal. a foil shim is much more precise though, you're not gonna find a CR20325 anywhere ever. you might find a CR2035 if you look hard enough.

That's why I suggested making a small aluminum foil shim in my post #3.
