It was a total bugger to fit also, since half below the snout.
If you remove the water pump pulley, access to this hose is much easier.

Well done @Cee Jay !

Now tell him this doesn’t come back without his registration with JaguarForums.
If Cee Jay's son is anything like mine, I'm not sure how much of a lesson he learned (considering Cee Jay is the one doing 99.4% of the suffering for this). Hopefully, you are correct, though!

Thanks, for the the detailed and informative thread @Cee Jay , et al. I don't have the 4.2, but I'm still learning things just reading through the informative posts.
Sorry to hear about the health issues, Cee Jay. Maybe having this project to work on has been a bit of a blessing/distraction in disguise? Hopefully, you're on the home stretch with the health challenges.

Actually no, I've not gotten that far yet. It's together, the bled coolant holds while NOT running, I've not checked the intercooler water pump yet, the O2 sensors are still hanging down, and I've not looked into the cats with my borescope yet as still No Lift.

I'm TEMPTED to try and start it, but that'd just be for fun right now. If the cat or cats ARE fouled, there'd be no progress gained.

It still needs new oil (I don't know what's in there right now), intake filters checked, MAF sensors checked and possibly cleaned, and the petrol age is at LEAST one year. That shouldn't be a problem, but it definitely isn't a positive.
SO, I retrieve the two-post in just over a week but the next day is a two week Dominican vacation with the family. Three-weeks-plus and a lift install and I'll know a LOT more than I do now. Therefore probably not much action on this thread for awhile.

I already have told him he should become a member in here, it could only help. Remember, he's a millennial who lives in Seattle who also lived with his mother and a shitty step-"father" most of his life. <----- His words.

Looky what I got, a week early! Two guys can get it off the trailer, using a rollie cart, a saw horse, a floor jack and some blocks of wood. Not very EASILY, but it worked okay!

Now to do the install, which I'm sure will take awhile. I don't see a completion before my vacation.

Awesome - who makes it Cee Jay. I wanted my bud to split the cost of one and install it in his barn. I think the unit was around $7500. He didn't want to cough up the dough even though he and his brother in law have been crawling under cars and trucks for the past couple of years.

At 11'-4", my ceiling was eight inches too low for a clear-floor type, so I had to get a Plate System type.
Made by Tuxedo, 9,000 pound lift, six feet lift to the top of the forks, and at Home Depot it is $3,399 and I get 10% off cuz Military. It was store delivered and they loaded it on my trailer. Their clear floor one is like a hunnerd bucks more is all. I've watched a couple videos and supposedly two capable humans can get it fully up and running in under four hours. A local lift company to me wanted $5,950 to have the same one installed for me. $2500 for eight hours work? Nah.

I would have preferred a clear-floor one, but not enough clearance. That one is also asymmetrical, which helps on certain vehicle types. Plus also that one lifts five inches higher.
For the amount I will use this, I just need a basic, lighter duty one. It's still tough enough to hoist my F250 at 8500 pounds, which is good.

I just borescoped the cats, first a pic of the Driver (left) side, then the PAX (right) side...

I'm not sure, does anyone notice anything wrong with either one???

DRIVER

PAX

Anyway, I just ordered a replacement from Rock Auto for just under $400.
I really do think my initial diagnosis was spot-on.
Five days or so to have it shipped, then a day or so to install and button stuff up. Oil and filter change, air filter check/clean, fuel filter change, overall inspection and then MAYBE....................................

And for fun, I took this a few days ago. I have a LOT of stuff to bring from my other shop, this is 99% new junk.
Google Photo Link, new shop panorama
It's a 360, so click a couple times on the photo so you can spin it.

And here's the final verdict:

I stuck my face on the flange and blew hard as I could.... barely any air movement. I did get a ring around my mouth though.

Not at all. Just took them off with no problems. The minor brace is better loosened or removed, as it is in the way.

Thanks, @Cee Jay . Now I have to add "Shop Envy" to my list of topics to discuss with my therapist...

Another update.
Well, the RockAuto cat got installed, but boy was it a pain. Turned out it is a Universal cat with appropriately bent pipes on it to mostly align to fit. Well, the header flange was mounted right up against the flare and that caused a bunch of problems as the Jag OE cat has a flange that moves way down to facilitate installation. I spent about an hour modifying the tail shaft that was too bulbous to enter the mid-pipe and get the flange to drop about an inch. Some prying and it finally got situated okay. Regardless, it's now in and I guess fits well enough.

SO, after an oil and filter change along with a pan gasket, I fired this thing up. PURRS LIKE A JAGUAR!!!! For the ten seconds I ran it, then OFF to check for leaks.
It also smells like petrol. There was some pretty steady fuel leaks on the floor, maybe two ounces. Dripping from the right/rear, so it would appear that I missed something ELSE probably right around the right side fuel rail or return?. I hate being old. I haven't looked yet, I wore myself out yesterday between this car and other household requirements.

Glad to hear everything is back running again! A minor fuel leak isn't a bad spot to be in given where you started.

The fuel temperature sensor is at the back of the RH fuel rail. Maybe it isn't tight enough or needs a new o-ring?

Great to hear you are nearly there!

A fuel leak of that size should be easy to locate.
