I'm not a fan of the X100, but the X150 floats my boat. The beauty of Ian Callum's timeless classic design, exclusivity, robotic aluminum construction, quality of workmanship and materials (except for the soft top rear window - my duckbill and dashboard leather are still OK), exhaust note, comfort, handling and power are all perfect for me at this stage of the game. I don't need all of the latest whizbang gadgets to enjoy the drive.
I'm content and glad to have what I have. And I'm also not about to change wives.

I like both my X100 and X150. The X150 is easier to live with day to day though. I daily drove my X100 XKR Convertible for 8 years so far, and I liked it's trunk, ride quality and relatively relaxed demeanor when you stayed off the gas. It doesn't handle near as well as the x150 but is still fun to drive.
The X150 despite bigger wheels, rides and handles better. Overall it's everything my X100 is and a little more. It's got better headroom though and overall feels much more modern in the best of ways. I still love my X100 and drive it, but I'm happy Jaguar did what they did with the 150. I'm glad I got a coupe and a convertible because the character and purpose are more different. I'm not vampire level avoidant of the sun, but close. I really only use the top down at night, but it's a blast on the right nights. When cruising on a nice night, my x100 feels so nice and is my choice.

Neat article. I really don't think there has been a great Jaguar design done in Tata's leadership. Good designs have been penned for Land Rover, but since the XK, all Jaguar models including the F Type I don't draw the emotional connection to like the XJ350 and X150. Those are the last two "real Jags" for me.

No I see it everywhere, the taste you and I share is in the untenable minority. Even the dyed in wool traditional Cuban cigar brands have capitulated and now catering to something they would puke at. (maduros). Selfridges has turned itself into a jean shop.
There are only 2 buyers that matter now, the millennials and China.
Aston has had the good fortune of catering to a stratosphere where they can retain their identity.

They have run out of letters mate, what are they going to call the next one; the G-type.
