Left Rear Quarter Panel Leaking 2012 XKR
Anybody ever been washing there XKR and noted that there is some water that gets behind the left rear quarter panel and you can see it inside where the rubber touches the glass??
I thought not... I got a peculiar problem with my 2012 XKR I wonder if there the left rear quarter panel glass needs removed, reset with new rubber seals??? Wonder how much THAT would cost... here are some pics of the problem.
Pic 1- Where I am having the problem.
Pic 2- The Left Rear Quarter panel showing some space/inadequate seal between the window and the internal rubber seal? I am not sure how it works. I dont know for sure if the problem is the outter or inner seals - or both?
Pic 3- The Right Rear Quarter panel showing everything flush and there is no water getting behind that window when I wash it.

The LH lower seal for the quarter glass has a part number of C2P5005. The quarter glass appears to be bonded to the body using a sealer, so replacing the lower seal may or may not be the solution.
Have you considered taking the vehicle to an automotive glass or body shop for inspection?

That window is held in place by a screw/bolt at the bottom . Behind the door apperature seal. Either the bolt is gone or the small braket that hold the window in place is broken. There is no sealant only the surrounding seal and a locating pin into a hole to correctly hold the back of the window in place. Then the front is bolted to the body. If youre under warranty it will be fixed and is a easy fix. If not my suggestion if the bracket is broken is to remove the glass, clean the rubber seal and glass. Apply a couple dabs of silicone and reseat window. The idea is to have the silicone hold the glass, not to glue the thing in place. If the bolt is loose or missing then you should now what to do.
