LH Headlamps Inoperable
Jaguar XK 2008 Convertible. Both the headlamp and main beam Xenon won’t work, the side light and indicator work fine. The RH side no problem . Any ideas please? There are two silver boxes on the headlamp assy I’m suspecting one of these seeing as I’ve changed the H8 bulb and the D1S Xenon bulb.

1. I'd get a decent diagnostics tool - iCarsoft seems to be the popular one for JLR stuff
2. Headlights harbour some 2000v - don't touch anything with the battery connected
3. Apparently the wiring is known to be a bit problematic - worth having a look at connectors and cleaning with electrical contact spray etc

Eg I now know I have no resistance at one of my bonnet actuators, so I'm getting a short or component failure on that circuit - not to hard to get to the bottom of it now I know that.
Just remember disconnect battery - 2000v I'm told can kill you or take the ends off your fingers

Big delay due to waiting for eBay to deliver a Xenon power supply
After embarrassing myself and not knowing how the Halogen lights were activated. I.e. turning the steering wheel left or right. I realised I only had one fault, namely, the pax side xenon. Swapping the headlamp assys the fault moved with unit, I had already changed the Xenon lamp so it had to be the PSU in the photo. I bought one online and fitted it today. Success! Luckily not too expensive an exercise. One needs a Torx screwdriver to remove the PSU.
