Looking to buy XK
Hi fellow Jag owners! after many months of persuasion, I finally got approval from my wife to get XK.
I have a budget of 35k and was wondering what year/mileage i could get
I want XK/Coupe.
Also does car seat fit into back of the car? I believe it's front facing britax marathon. I convinced my wife car seat will fit in XK but quite honestly i am not sure if it will.
Thanks guys and have a nice day!

You can theoretically fit a car seat but only with seat pushed way forward. We have a britax marathon for our 2 yo. I honestly haven't tried to fit it because the poor little gut only gets driveway rides. If my son was 4 or 5 id skip a car seat altogether but as it is its not an easy fit.

Congrats on your decision! What year depends a lot on the model. I think you can get my ride (2007 xkr vert) for around that price. I'm biased however I am awfully happy with my ride and it really is a crowd pleaser. Usually people around here only have eyes for Ferraris or Lambos however my baby actually draws a crowd much to my surprise...
Wish you luck!

After owning 3 Xks the cheapest thing about them is buying them. Have money in reserve for repairs and maintenance. Don't buy an 07 with adaptive cruise control. In regards to engines the 4.2 liter gets 3 mpg better than the 5 liter and in my opinion is smoother and has a better exhaust note. The ride handling compromise is better in the 2007 over the 2012 I have now however the interior is better in the 2012.

Jaguar Pre-Owned Inventory Search | Choose Your Vehicle
Suggest you look at a Jaguar Certified used XK. This will add some to your purchase price, but you will have the security of warranty work at any Jaguar dealer. It is easier to buy a car at a distance, sight unseen like this. The website above will look all over the USA for you.

I have a neighbor who has only owned Acuras and now has a 2010 XK. He was hesitant at first to buy one,but mentioned he has not experienced any problems or issues since purchase.

I own a 2009 Jaguar XKR with the .,2L supercharged engine, and this car has more power than what I need on the streets. If you do consider an XKR, I am quite sure that a 2007, 2008 or 2009 model with supply you with plenty of power.
I have not had any issues with my car, and I must say it is just awesome to drive it. Now with cooler weather approaching here in the desert southwest, the top will be down much more often.

As a side note from an owner that has 3 kids, those back seats are ONLY good for smaller kids. 10 or 11 is probably tops. My wife is 5'2", and with the passenger seat slid as far forward as it can without her knees actually touching the dash, I can no longer fit my 5'7" 14 year old son behind him. The other two, which are smaller, still kinda fit. I don't think you'll get a full baby seat in the rear though. If they're in booster seats, they won't need them in the back -- it's snug enough that it definitely won't be needed.

Perhaps you need to play with the seating position a bit more. I often have my 14 and 16 year old in the front/rear passenger seats and they are both over 5'8". I even had them both in the back and my wife in the front seat on one trip. We all had to compromise on space and it was only a 15/20 minute journey but was possible.

<chuckles> Only my bean pole 11 year old can fit behind me. I'm 6'3" and built like a lineman. My knees barely clear the dash with the seat all the way back. And 2 of my 3 kids inherited said build. (my 9 year old is already bigger than the 11). We manage to squeeze one or two in for short trips, but as it's only a 4 seater, when everyone wants to go, we pile into the wife's Juke or take the Roller. No one complains about elbow room in the Roller.
