Looking at buying and wondering...
Is this 2007 XKR grille shady? It doesn't have the emblem in the middle, and look s a little wavy around the edges. While the car has a clean Car Fax, this is a bit of a head scratcher and makes us wonder... front end damage? Cheap fake? As we understand it, it's quite difficult to change a grille out and entails removing the whole bumper.

As part of the negotiation- demand that they include original grille. Since its probably laying around anyway.
If they say well the owner is long gone and who knows what the owner did to this car.
Thats when you say- 'so not much is known about the previous owner, I am going to just assume that it was a pimp based on this tasteful grille and factor that into my price'
Yes its awful.

Don't think that's a Mina grill, looks more like something homemade, as there are mounting screws clearly visible in both the upper and lower grills. And the edges look like plastic tubing. In the photo it looks poorly done, but definitely replaceable with either OEM or good aftermarket grills.

Agreed.
My OEM black wire mesh looks sharp, even Mina cant compare.
As for front nose removal, Muddydog says he can have his off in no time (Once you've done it the first time, I think it gets a lot easier.)
I've not heard the term Aluminum put in front of the Luxury Package, but the Luxury Package does come on 19" rims unless the buyer chose otherwise.
$28K isnt a killer in my book, but these are great cars and if it checks all your boxes, then buy and enjoy.

OK - thanks so much for the feedback! It's an '07 XKR Convertible with 28k miles @ $28K. Probably not a killer deal but around market price. They claim "Aluminum Luxury Package" but it appears to have 19" wheels - and according to Motor Trend that package came with 20" wheels.

Grill i definitely aftermarket, and does not look good.
Google search 2007 Jaguar XK/XKR grilles and the one on the Jaguar can be replaced easily with a much better grill in appearance.
Here's an OEM Upper grille for $149.00
Jaguar C2P8244 Genuine Upper Grille | eBay
OEM Lower grille...
Jaguar 07 09 XKR Front Bumper Grille Lower Grille C2P8242 | eBay
Easy fix.

Many thanks to all the very helpful replies! I see most everyone agrees the grille is awful. :-) It's a negative but as noted, could be fixed for ~$500 plus labor - or at least lowered in price due to this.
An inspection at a dealer is a good idea, though as mentioned no reported issues on the Car Fax which is usually a good sign.
We'll keep looking around but maybe go see it, not sure if a dealer named "Loki" can be trusted. lol We are looking at other options (besides Jag) as well. One of the bonuses is to fit TWO sets of golf clubs (cart bags) in the trunk - almost impossible to find in a convertible.
Thanks again!

The OEM metal grill is the way to go. The front bumper needs to come off, but that isn't so difficult.
The Mina grill is suppose to fit over the original one. Do you see it behind it? I don't mind the chrome wheels, but I would add chrome side view mirrors, chrome OEM grill and/or something else so it looks thought out.

My advice - wait until the right one turns up - you'll appreciate it much more and the love affair will last for years

This is very true for buying anything illiquid; be it cars, homes, antiques, arts, or private equities. The right one never comes out easily. You've got to have patience and monitor the market for months, if not years, to have a satisfying love affair.
