Default Loose connector in battery bay

So the battery in my XK went bad just after the free replacement period almost as if on cue. Popped a new battery in this afternoon and find I have a loose connector which I can’t find a mate for and don’t remember disconnecting. Looked up some pics online and was relieved to see the same connector loose in other cars. Anyone know what it is?

It's the connector for the TRANSIT RELAY.

Fitted at the factory prior to dispatch, the relay is removed during PDI at the dealership. The lead is then tucked out of sight until some owner finds it.

Tuck it where it can't short to anything.
