Default Low tire pressure Alert

Hello All,
Just installed new Continental Extreme Contact tires and new Siemens OEM TPM Sensors at the local tire shop. Sensors were
programmed at install. No low tire warning after leaving shop. After driving about 10 miles the low pressure warning illuminated showing several tires were low. Now the alert is constantly illuminating. I have an appointment to recheck the sensors next week.
Is there anything I can do meanwhile to correct the fault?
Thanks for any advice.
Bill

Jaguar TPMS sensors do not require any programming. They self-calibrate after about 10 minutes of driving. Did that tire shop sell them to you? If you paid that tire shop to program them, they ripped you off. Are you sure they used the correct sensors and that they were new inventory with healthy batteries?

Have you checked the tire pressures of all four tires with a digital tire pressure gauge? If so, and they're at the pressures recommended on the driver's door jamb sticker, inflate all four tires to 42 lbs. and drive around for 15-20 minutes then reset them to the normal pressures. Hopefully, that'll fix the problem.

Good luck!

Thank you Stuart. I’ll do that today.
I bought the Siemens OEM sensors myself and had the tire shop install them with the new tires.
The shop didn’t say they programmed the sensors. That was my wrong assumption.

Bill,
Your tire shop should have a scan tool to measure the remaining battery life of the TPMS sensor in each wheel. Those batteries could be low if the sensors were sitting on the shelf for years, especially if the price was low. I've noticed some low prices for new old stock sensors on RockAuto.com.

Stuart,
I did exactly what you recommended today. It worked. No more problems after driving for 45 minutes after deflating the tires back to the proper settings. I even bought a professional Digital tire inflator with gauge to verify proper inflation.
Thank you for the advice.

You can use the Advanced Search function to find a specific old post by a Forum member. Enter several key words that describe what you're looking for, that Forum member's name, and the Forum in which you want to search. Then OK.

Rock Auto sells OEM TPMS sensors at various prices. A low price means they're old stock, and the batteries might not last very long.

Thanks - yes I did use the advanced search Stuart. I've been a member here awhile. You have 51 posts with TPMS in it. I didn't know the seller name you referenced so didn't key in rock auto as well. I thought you might recall and save me the hassle. Thank you.
