i really don't get caught on inflated power figures however cambo has run a 12.1 on street tyres . tune , x pipe and upper pulley no racing fuel nor is stripped down for weight reduction at the end of the day who knows how much bhp its putting out
but its unopened and not a huge amount of money needs to be spent to get those times

Gutted cats with tune to compensate for back pressure, 10...ish. Self installed.
Tune, 70...ish, $950.00
Upper pulley, 15...ish $350.00. Self installed.
Oil catch can, 20...ish $200.00 Self installed.
$1,500.00, 535hp...ISH
12.565 with a 0.385 reaction time is my best so far with street tires, without catch can or upper pulley.
Yep slow off the line. Yep all advertised gains but this is what has been done so far.

You know this is going to be asked, are those numbers based on what pulley, exhaust, catch can, etc manufacturers say you will get when you bolt them on or did you do dyno runs for each mod to verify? Also you left off intakes. Since it’s an air pump, you’ve got to balance both input and output.

All advertised gains. Nothing verified with a dyno. Nor do I intend to. Nothing to prove other than I'm having fun.
Alpha Jag tune custom for my cats.
Catalytic converters were modified into mini cherry bombs with 2" perforated pipe welded in.
3lb pulley.
Catch can homemade concoction with the help of forum posts. Intake next. Maybe larger throttle body. Need cooling upgrade. Another set of rims for a pair of Mickey Thompsons. Spool up an LSD. Goal is to sneak into the 11's.

Hey everyone,
As my car gets older I have considered selling it but would rather keep it with me. I love the look and it's not something you see every day, even in LA. The power additions for the 4.2 are minimal by today's standards and I found myself thinking it would be fun to make the car a 1/2 race car. This is pure fantasy at this point but swapping in an LS motor with a blower would get me some good power and make the car pretty unique. I realize could just buy a corvette and save myself some money but where is the fun in that.
Anyway, I know the XK100 has a swap kit but I wanted to see if anyone knew of someone who's done an LS swap in the XK150?

Clearly it can be done, here is one with a Ford 302, not my choice but it shows the space is there, https://www.grautogallery.com/vehicl...2-jaguar-xk120
Having done it in a classic I can tell you that a XKR or other V8 Jaguar is NOT the way to go unless money is no object. The reason is that it will be a tight fit and need customization and that is where the advantage of the LS V8's being one of the most popular V8's to use in many cars. That huge attraction creates a huge array of companies that make custom parts to make any swap easier from many different customizable ECU's, serpentine kits, shorty headers, engine mounts, etc. that would be a nightmare do duplicate if you went with a Jaguar V8. Plus the LS V8 will hands down put down way more power than a Jag V8, more reliable, lighter, and just so many accessories available.

Anything can be done with an infinite budget, though for the cost you might be able to afford a real super car! If a proper race car with the X150 shell is what you're after it can be done, but if retaining OEM functions and trim then the cost is going to be significant. For the same reason aftermarket upgrades are rare, there's no plug and play conversion kit for the X150.

That is why an LS V8 could be done at a reasonable price, not a cheap price but an achievable price. That X150 with that power will be much like my 4 door Jag, a super fast sleeper. All you need is to either have the skill or find a good shop that can do some custom fab work at a fair price and you could build an XK150 with a light weight LS3 that will put down 500-750 reliable street power. My 3.8s will do 0-60 in 4.0 seconds looks stock other than rims
