Default Mechatronics sleeve

Looking for a little help please...

I am in the middle of changing the transmission fluid on my 07 XKR, i went ahead and bought a new sleeve to address that little issue and as much as i thought it would be a straightforward swap i have reached an impasse...

The old sleeve came out nice and easily, i lubed up the o-rings on the new sleeve and have it pretty much where the old one sat, making sure the internal tab was at the 6pm position, however i cannot for the life of me move the white plastic retainer inside the transmission to lock the sleeve in place.

Any advice would be most welcome.

thanks

Russell

Is this set far enough into the transmission, possibly too far?

Ok it's in there now.....

Took shower and had a cup of tea to calm down and went back out for a second try.

I took the new one back out, re-installed the old one to see how far in it went and the tab slid into place, i then put the new one back in but with new seals it needed an extra "push" to line it all up..

Yeah it takes some elbow grease... I put some fluid on the o-rings, then put a flat wooden block on the sleeve and pounded it with a mallet!

Ok thanks, this makes me feel a little better. I don't like forcing things but there are times it needs to be done.
