I was, but the results were less than expected and I ran into a brick wall with Velocity getting certain tables adjusted such as torque, timing, AFR, etc. I know this car has the potential for higher power gains so while I gave up on one tuner and a very significant amount of money lost, I did not give up continuing to pursue this endeavor. So far I would say Cambo and his team know these cars VERY well and don't say they can do something they can't.

Thanks for the kind words...

Although the tune does have the threshold's for the fan lowered, you might want to consider checking or replacing the thermostat just in case.

I had to replace the thermostat in my XJR at 10 years old, it was at the point of not opening at all until >100°C, these things don't last forever...

Did you see page 1, post 17?

And speaking of cooling systems, I have read the procedure in the service manual but is there any other way to do it that may be easier and just as effective? Any thoughts on BG flushing systems?

Don't know if they use a different thermostat in the XKR, but my 2007 XK typically runs at 197 degrees, staying within 194 - 199 on long drives. My ambient temps have been cooler than yours though.

PS - This is now a 2 year old thermostat, had to replace the old one that was stuck open (getting an 'under temperature' code).

If you talk in Fahrenheit you might as well be talking Greek to me...

My XJR sits on 91°C in the shade, getting up to about 97-98°C if you're stuck in traffic on a warm day...

210°F = 99°C

When my thermostat was stuffed it didn't get overly hot in sedate driving conditions, but with some continuous heavy footwork it got well over 105°C. And on the track it overheated. That was the wake up call.

I never had a problem with flushing/filling the coolant, drain it from the bottom of the radiator, fill it from the overflow tank. Parking the car on an upward slope seemed to help a bit with getting the air out.
