It is what it is... Left message with dealership it's still there and hopefully he will be back in Monday from his illness. Not sure what the gameplan is though

I am at a deserted parking lot... I am unable to get it to chirp with hard acceleration.... Just every now and then with P to R.. It's still the same chirp but much less often.... I'm going to keep testing it and see... They may be on to something??

Break her in hard...maybe you can train the chirp out of her. Let that car know who is boss!

if something could ever break we will know, its so frustrating...unsure if accelerating, forcing will cause it to fail and break either.

UPDATE: I have still not heard a chirp... Very promising! Apt is next Thursday at 8:30 am to check the e-brake cables and further insulate them away from the body - which is what the tech said was potentially happening. Not sure why it chirped a few times after I picked it up though?!?

maybe the emergency brake cable was well installed originally and a problem has displaced it, they need to find the source, maybe it is the brake emergency motor doing this noise when you go to R the emergency brake is released, so these motor are super noisy when they break. Or do we have to turn off the engine to action the emergency brake ? it could not be the clutch, automatic clutch? I hope it will be fixed on Monday, maybe it is better not to take it back but to try it yourself each time after they checked it out.

Agreed Pierre... Only I can tell them when the car is fixed As they would never go out to a parking lot and test it this way.

Just took her for another 50 miles and NO CHIRP! This is the problem! it needs to be documented for all time that that e-brake cables against the body can cause chirping in a XK.

FINALLY... I was able to drive the car and concentrate on the car moreso than any odd noise... I was able to feel good about it, the power - the seductive looks - the leather smell of the internal materials. It was as if Queen Elizabeth herself was massaging my temples. It was absolutely ... in a word...intoxicating. I love it so much I want another XKRS as my daily driver lol!!!.... Got a beat on one when he goes to sell it too ;-)

I go back to the dealership this Thursday at 8:30am. I am going to see exactly what they did, how they are going to insulate this cable away from the body so it never happens again, and see if I can determine why it happened in the first place.

I took it out today for 25 more miles to test it. No chirp on hard acceleration or decel ... Small chirp going from D to R which it did a few days ago as well. Still not completely gone but least we are on to the problem. That being said I want to find out exactly what happened to cause this this brake cable to rub the body? I also want it to be gone completely and for good .

Hopefully once it is resolved it is clear in your head and i hope it is not that much of an exclusive repair, but there is not that much xkrs too...(you do understand my english)
I went to check the land rover today it is navy blue, its is my preferred color, the dealer was advertising it for black and i finally found the owner. it be a super cheap Range and 50 000 km. I did 320 km out of a full tank of 98 today with the jagy, 1h15 mn naquera - alicante 200km. And when i passed cars i was very slow .... i checked the oil level it was in the middle so i added one liter, last time it was the same and i added more than 1 liter to show a full tank even after waiting 30 mn. it does not seem so accurate the digital oil level while i think the car is fine and it is within the tolerance. Nice ride with the range, impressed how it runs smooth, with silence and hopefully a remap will help the 120 km per h, range where it seems lacking. Back to windsurf soon and i will use the jag less like this.

I agree Pierre, I hope I am at the end of this misery and we find nothing further wrong. The land rover sounds nice...thinking of purchasing one are you?

Hi Ryan, yes i am definitely buying it i could not find better i think. it compliment so well the jag, i already fell i will be driving it most of the time, the jag is fabulous but everyday is....too tempting and too much frustrations....

I like the height from vans or the range, i had 3 plymouth grand caravan in cali.
for 22k euros i will enjoy it for sure. in 2 days it's here. I may even keep all original, the owner was crying, he said, we are going to stay poor with you ...at 22k, and he added i just bought some brand new " Micheline..." lol so i m getting these badass tires on top, it launchs super light, feels lighter than the xk....business is going slow until november but i trust it. I have a natural credit, the sun and water...no towing, no 4x4 tout terrains, even a gps , he was scared to set one up on the dash....A good guy really. no leather seat no gps, he said leather is hot in summer and cold in winter, its' no comfort. well i like the mileage and the color /price.

I remember Evian the service manager at Jaguar Lyon, used to tell me, people who owned Land Rover and changed of brand, always come back to Land Rover.

Hey Pierre! Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

I went into jaguar dealership yesterday and they put the car up on the rack for me. Took the rear wheels off. I got to see under the car and into the rear wheel wells - VERY COOL. This car is SOLID. He showed me the ebrake line that he had thought was making the chirp...really...I dont know how he even figured out that it was the culprit.

SUCH an AMAZING CAR - WOW...very very well built.

They showed me the gas line as well that was damaged in transit that they fixed prior to delivery.

They showed me the insulation they were going to use to prevent the brake line from rubbing up against the body, and installed it.

So far I have only driven the car from the dealership back home and into the garage. I have not heard a chirp .

Ryan
