Has anyone installed the NavTool carplay in the 2007 to 2012 XK? They claim it is compatible. If you did install one what issues did you fine?

we don't mention the name. last time we did, this site was spammed by trolls. The company has a bogus website claiming an "A" BBB rating. They are actually rated F by the BBB. Do business with them at your own risk.

You can add a backup camera either the easy way, as I did, or the hard way integrated into the touchscreen. See this thread for the easy way: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...m-sale-224053/

Obviously, it's not as good as the factory system but for me it's the perfect solution. Low price, simple 15 minute DIY installation, fits in the ashtray, and it shows me what I need to see.

I vote for the "hard" (not really too bad) way for the camera.

Nicely done, but way beyond my ability and, for me, the cost exceeds the benefits.

Those work okay, but then you lose your mirror functions. Of course, those cars that do not HAVE the mirror functions wouldn't be detrimentally affected.

Don't think so, when display is off it's a full mirror, it has a mirror film over it but when the display lids up you see the backup camera.

Not what I meant. The interior mirror has the AutoDim feature in it that dims the inside mirror AND the outside mirrors when it senses headlights in the mirror, thereby reducing the amount of light/glare entering the eyeballs of the XK/R driver.
Remember those little levers on the bottom of interior mirrors in old-timey cars? They did the same thing, but manually and only on the interior mirror.
Also, I do believe, the inside mirror on our cars also has an Auto-low (dip) beam control sensor. The auto wiper module is stuck on the windscreen, so that doesn't enter the fray.

Mine has all those functions... I had seen that info here, and decided the rear camera was more important than the auto dim on the outside mirrors. After the install, everything works as before and I have the camera. I don’t know why, maybe because this camera/mirror is auto dim...
