Ok, I have a coolant leak that has been difficult to trace just because of the hoods orientation. I was able to see that the leak is coming from a hose that sits directly under the supercharger pully (slightly behind and below to be out of the way of the belt). I looked at the following diagram but could not identify the part. In the exploded parts view you can't see the outlet from the thermostat that the hose in question connects to. The hose in question connects to what looks like the water pump (not sure what pulley is below supercharger).
Anyone have any idea what part this is? I am likely going to just get a screw type hose clamp to gove the connection more pressure so it hopefully will stop leaking out the end. Just looking for some advise on the topic.
Side note, does anyone remove the hood to access this stuff? Reaching over to the middle of the car is a PITA.

You can raise the hood higher into a service position to make it much easier to work on. Pop off the hydraulic lift retainers, lift the hood vertical and keep in held in place with a bolt through the hinge holes on each side.

"... the car comes from the factory with these special spring type clamps on the radiator hoses and sometimes on the heater hoses as well. Well, here we have one of those.
This clamp is a spring that applies equal pressure all the way around. And you should not throw this away and replace it with one of these worm-drive clamps because the worm-drive clamp has a pressure point right under the screw. And when you put that onto a plastic part, like this radiator, what happens is: because these parts are expanding and contracting all the time, well that pressure point eventually cracks the plastic, and goodbye radiator. And of course radiators can be expensive. So your best bet is, if you’re going to do this yourself, or even if you’re having the technician do it, insist that they use the original clamps. Because your radiator and other plastic parts will last longer."
You can replace a spring clamp with a screw clamp if the hose fits on a metal fitting.
I really dislike/distrust those spring clamps, but good info, makes sense..... dammit.
I didn't like them at first until I broke the neck on our Volvo radiator .Then I looked at how they were designed and other then quick assembly why they were used. Now I use them anyplace they are used by the mfg. but I bought a pair of pliers designed to remove and install these clamp types.
Took it to a shop. They spent over an hour on the phone with Jag dealer trying to determine the part. He decided it must be what he had changed previously on an xkr which went under the supercharger. Anyone know of this hose? Says it will be all in $800 to fix with all the gaskets.
I shall name that hose "Mortimer", is there anything else I may help you with?
Love it ^
The mechanic wasn't too excited about doing this job. He told me that the parts catalogue didn't show it in the diagram so he would have to pull it apart to see if the part number is on it since they couldn't figure it out over the phone. I told him good luck because I couldn't get any further with my search without pulling the supercharger. I just didn't have it in me to do thig big of a job on my own (with my wife awaiting it to be complete watching me). Hope she gets complete, smogged and on the road again.
Here is my poor bleeding girl, may Mortimer get replaced easily. (facebook told me I took this exactly a year ago as of today)
