Default Nav nanny

Okay, now I have two XKR's, my 2004 Portfolio and a just delivered 2011 in arrest-me red. I replaced the worthless nav system in the 2004 with a Garmin 1450 but the 2011 system appears too integrated for that approach. My wife loves to play with the nav unit while going anywhere and I was wondering if there is a way to bypass the lockout nanny while the car is moving?

Not that I'm aware of. I don't use the built-in GPS anymore. I use Google maps and have a magnetic bracket to hold the smart phone. The bracket fits into the CD slot and can be turned in multiple directions. You can find them on Amazon or Ebay. Furthermore the information on Google maps is current and it suggests alternate routes when necessary.

I rather thought so but had to ask. As I'm a dinosaur and use a flip phone, I don't have Google maps.

One possibility might be to pursue the Android media server route, pioneered by SeanW. Find his thread for installation tips.
He's using it to get gauges, but I'd think you could run a map app on it, and while it would be more 'modern' it also wouldn't be happered by a 'lockout'.
