Need help resolving electronic issues 2008 XKR
Hi All
I am experiencing most annoying electroinics issues with my 2008 XKR.
I have done lengthy reasearches and have used the search function.
I hope the collective knowledge in this Forum can help speed up the diagnosing of the problem.
I seem to find quite a few threads that describe similar symptoms (interestingly enough also on XF's) , but most threads just evaporate before anyone posts the fix for a problem...
Some Background:
Yes, Battery is new
Yes, it is an AGM battery
Yes, Battery checks out ok
Yes, Key is kept away from car while car is in garage
Yes, parking brake is always on while parked
Yes, car is driven regularly
Yes, Smart Key battery is OK
The symptoms
Touch screen flashes leaper for 2 seconds, goes blank, flashes leaper, etc.
This can happen all of a sudden while driving along.
There is no identifiable error reproducing pattern.
When this happens, no audio , climate control fan stops, screen accepts no Input, home button does not work screen off button does not work. Car runs fine otherwise.
One single touch of, for instance, the windshield heater button cures the problem instantly, all is well for the rest of the ride.
Next time I use the car it can be a trouble free 150 km ride or the screen flashes after a random length of time .
Then there is something else that has happened. The screen flashing started the very second I opened the door. Then the car did not recognize the smart key, asked me to insert it in the receptacle, says parking aid not available. Car will start and runs fine. If I shut down and restart the car the touch screen recovers, all works as expected, but the symptoms can return as described above while driving..
Maybe someone has experienced similar Problems and can post their fix?
Or maybe there are some Jaguar techs in the forum that can share their thoughts...?
Any help is appreciated
Many thanks

It could be as simple as a loose ground but, if memory serves, some people have their system reflashed to cure the problem.
Unless some kind soul can come up with a more definitive answer then I would at least talk to a dealer, just to see if you can attain some information.
There may well be a TSB for this problem.
