IMO i think Aston has taken the shine of the f-type with this car, i never had a great liking to Astons except the dbs, but to me this car looks stunning. It has similar lines to the f-type but seems more sleek,,and i suppose a convertible will be next.
Good video on you tube of the new car.

I hate to be the one dissenter here, but I don't like it. It doesn't look expensive. It looks Japanese to me. Or like an electric car!

When I was at the L.A. Auto Show two weeks ago, the Aston display at the show looked like a morgue, no one in it, no one walking toward it, no one interested. Now, maybe that's because the line is so dated in terms of changes or new models. But contrast the Maserati booth, which was amongst the busiest at the show. I am not a great Maserati fan, detest the Quattroporte, would rather have a Toyota Camry than the new Ghibli, but I do think the Gran Turismo is very nice. But this new Maserati, whatever they're calling it (I don't recall) is something else. Very much in the tradition of the XK/XKR, it is simply stunning from every angle. Now the Aston DB line is bigger than the Vantage or the F-type, and the Maserati is in that larger league, a true GT class automobile, not a sports car. Buick portholes notwithstanding, if the performance is there (and that's a big if, since Ferrari doesn't like giving the Maserati line the same kind of horsepower), I could see this car as a terrific replacement for my XKR someday down the line

Indeed it is. Can Maserati keep the weight down to make it a real performer? I don't think so. Maserati has never been able to shed pounds. Maserati has always been about GT's rather than sports cars, so it could still deliver in spades in that respect.

Can Maserati actually make a car that is all leather and running gear that does not stick or come out of a Dodge Dart? We'll see soon enough.

They sure know how to style them. I can't think of a Maserati that wasn't good looking to me.

Well, I'm not a huge fan of the Ghibli. Not because it's ugly, but because it doesn't look exotic or expensive!

I always love the front end of the maseratis, the middle looks OK, then the back looks like they couldnt be bothered. Even the Gran Tourismo looks disproportionate (to me) at the back end, and the one in the clip above is quite gauche and OTT. But I do love the front ends on them.

The original hockey stick design of the Qporte rear lights was nice and Fiat dumbed it down over the years until they striped any pizzazz remained. BMW did the same to the 7 series. They should have stuck the design until the public caught up.

The "new" DB10 is actually a rebodied V8 Vantage. Hence, it still uses the VH platform that is being redesigned by Aston.

They're only making 10 units, and all 10 are being used in the Upcoming movie.

Yea, I think it looks like an F Type as well, and (most) of my new Aston "friends" don't like it either.

As far as Maserati goes, I think the bigger question will be if they can make one that doesn't break down???

I am ready to see some "real" renderings of the newly designed XK/R.

If it is good enough, that may pull me back to Jag.

Re: Maseratis: My Jaguar dealer has two, traded in on new Jaguars. 'nuff said.
Maybe not quite enough said...Maseratis are delicate things and they often remind me of a Jaguar designed by a committee. I want to like them, I almost do like them, but they take a generally good design and then swoop a line the wrong way, or add a detail (like the Buick portholes) that destroy the integrity of the design....in contrast, I showed an artist my XK coupé. He examined it from every angle and then said "There isn't a wrong line in it, is there?"
Now, 'nuff said.

I test drove a top of the line Maserati Ghibli when I was considering getting out of motorcycles. I was just not impressed. It was not bad but I would not give up the wife's XF for one. An XF supercharged, let alone an XFR would eat it for breakfast and cost the same money. I just see no value for dollar in the car.

Maserati engine sounds better than the Jaguar, especially with a fancy exhaust.

Maseraties do sound great, but the new Ghibli is not a very impressive car and with its "mighty" v-6, performs like what you'd expect from a glorified Camry. But, they do make some nice cars like the Gran Turismo and if the production Alfieri is anything like the prototype, I'll certainly be interested.
