I'm proud owner of 2011 XKR, that I picked up from Philadelphia last Friday and drove it back all the way to Chicago over the weekend....
it took me some time to decide between SL550 and XKR , for a year I was looking at SL and last month by accident i noticed XKR at the dealer, test drove it and could not forget about it, I Put my 2000 Boxster for sale and when I was ready to go back to the dealer to pickup the XKR it was already sold!, I could not find another one in radius of 200 miles, the closest ones were either Florida or NY, and there were 2 at the dealer in Philadelphia , so I decided to fly there and pickup the black one that had 22 inch rims ( not a fan of those) and dual tone interior , but when I saw it in person the interior was really beat up, the top portion of rear window was unglued from the top, speaker grills were covered in white grime. So I changed my mind and went with silver one that was much better condition,
Took it for inspection , had to fix one engine mount and a bearing to be safe to drive 12 hours home. made a deal and took it home,
There are couple outstanding items that needs to be done:
Alignment as the car is pulling a bit to left
Front Driver's side rim is slightly bent
AC only works when RPMS are over 2000
Find cheaper insurance that i can suspend for winter...
I already purchased Bluetooth Stereo adapter , LED Interior and headlight bulbs, Remote Soft top.
I do really enjoy the car, the sound of exhaust and the insane acceleration, and would like to meet other XK owners in Chicago land area
Some pic of dirty car right after getting back home
Welcome aboard, you'll find this forum to be most helpful when you need it as well as entertaining. Your pix look great and you've good reason to be proud.
From the pictures the rims look like 20", are you sure they are 22"? Slightly bent rims are easily fixable at a good shop and the fact they one is bent may be the reason of the mis-alignment.
Welcome to the forum. You'll get the most useful and best info right here. These guys are awesome! I hope you enjoy your car as much as I've enjoyed, and am still enjoying, mines.
You might want to try turning your front plate number bracket upside down. That makes the plate flush with the center bar and it looks a little better IMHO.
welcome to the forum. I am also in the Chicago area, just on the Indiana side of the state border in Saint John - no front plate in Indiana.
my only mod included a full paint correction and ceramic glass coating. stunning results especially on metallic paint like ours. it really pops.
enjoy the ride and perhaps see you at a car show or two this summer.
the photo below was taken at Autobahn CC in Joliet. the exhaust sounds even better at 140 mph!!!

now you got me excited by going 140mph with top down!
where did you get ceramic coating and what was the price? there are few places around chicago but I would like to go to the one that was recommended as it is very easy to mess up the procedure
I actually did it myself, with guidance from Esoteric Car Care.
I purchased the Kamikaze products from them, and did the paint correction; about 12 hours for polishing. Then I applied Miyabi and then ISM.
