New member from the DMV!
Hello everybody!
I've been lurking the forums for maybe a year now and finally sprung to sign up! I'm a career service advisor and have worked at the Jag dealers in North Bethesda and Tyson's Corner in recent years, so I'm very familiar with Jags of old and new. I flew down to Miami and bought the car in April of 2018 after finding it online and have enjoyed every day with it. Its currently my daily driver and mostly intend on keeping it that way. Unfortunately my significant other's car has been on its last legs at 231k miles, so between weekend trips to the Carolinas and us having to share the XK for months at a time, its gone from 12k miles at purchase to just about 46k at the time of this post. Yikes, I know, but I don't intend on selling the car any time soon so I'm gonna enjoy it. For the money I don't think there's anything else worth really looking at that does everything as well as this thing does.
Anywho, here's the stable! Mines is a 2013 with the black/red/aluminum interior. I always loved the diamond pattern aluminum in the XFRs when they'd come in for service, so I was thrilled when I found this car had that trim. Hers is a 2007 X-Type wagon that just won't die as long as we feed it 1-2k per year in repairs.
In the 30k miles that I've had the car, I've only done oil changes, new tires, rear brake pads & rotors and just recently new air filters. Its been rock solid reliable and a superb road trip vehicle. It always amazes us how much stuff we can load into the car with the huge trunk and additional back seat space. Its fun to watch people hang in our 3/4 view as they gaze the car's beautiful lines. I don't blame them. I love the fact that in the DMV I'll see MB SL, 6 series and Mareratis in plenitude but you'll rarely see an X150, let alone another coupe. Even slimmer chances of seeing a facelifted X150 coupe that also happens to be an R. Definitely a rare breed, so I enjoy the exclusivity. The same can be said about the SO's car.

It is indeed beautiful - the XK is rolling art. But the much-underrated X-Type (especially the rare wagon version) is also beautiful. My 2005 Sportwagon (Racing Green) has been 100% reliable over 7 years of use, and a joy to own and drive. In fact, just preparing for another road trip in it now.
