Bought this 2007 car from a dealership in chicago area. 72,XXX miles. Luxury package & Premium sound package. The body is in very nice shape. Not even one door ding. Just has 2 or 3 very small scratches on either bumper, very hard to see. It had the A/C hose work done some years back, and the leather dash and interior is in excellent shape (plastic in shifter area has some wear though)
Only issues: All the Senta wheels are all slightly out of round from hitting potholes. and they have some road-rash as well. I might get some reconditioned wheels after a bit if they bother me. I did feel just a little vibration at freeway speeds, but nothing bad. I had a mechanic inspect car before purchase, and he brought the wheels to my attention, along with broken off mast antenna, and slight leak of transmission fluid. His quote was about $1200 to replace the pan. The dealer immediately poo-pooed that issue and said it would be fine, if it was only weeping. My sales guy ended up being the biggest ******* I've every bought a car from. The manager was nice though and if it were not for him I would have walked out.
Ended up getting it out the door for $19,982 cash. (I will pay T,T,&R in my own state) I'm sure they made very little profit off this sale, and hate me...Oh well, thats life...
Hope it ends up being a solid car with no mechanical nightmares. Looking forward to learning more from you guys on this board!

You will be pleased to know that the XK is one of the most well sorted, reliable and viceless cars Jag has ever produced. As we all know, this has not always been the case.
Congratulations and good luck.
Very nice car and deal. Congratulations. As far as the trans leak, I'd advise replacing the pan and fluid anyway. While Jaguar says it is sealed for "life" it has been advised by ZF and others on this forum that 60k miles is a good point to replace particularly if you plan on keeping the car for a while or putting miles on it. The price you were quoted seems high although Jag dealers sell the special lifeguard fluid for a very high price there is a company in California that sells a full kit for a very reasonable deal of less than $300.
Your car looks hot! One of the best colors IMO for the XK.
I had the transmission pan replaced for like $550 out the door. No way is it $1200. The kit is around $250 from ZF and the rest is labor and disposal charge. My guy is $110 an hour...
I kind of agree with the salesman that is not a big issue if you on top of it. I had my XK on a lift every month or two, but I am walking distance to the shop. At some point it will need to be replaced and with your mileage it needs to be done 10k miles ago.
Pull the fuse for the antenna and keep it down. It looks like big game fishing rod when up.
Drive it for a while before deciding on what to do with the wheels. You're looking at 1K to do them right and if you need tires, might as well wait until then to save some money & downtime. This car goes through tires quick. I averaged about 8K for the rears with no fancy driving.

I will get the tranny work done. I will try and get a more reasonable price than what was quoted from the jaguar dealer. ...You guys are a wealth of info.
