quick question
From these photos Ive attached of this white XKR with vortex Rims is anyone able to tell if the car is stock or if it has spacers?

The Vortex design was never available for 4.2L North American models. The Vortex design in a silver painted finish was introduced with the limited production UK market 4.2L 2008 XKR-S. They are very rare.
The Vortex design pictured above in a machined face with gloss black painted inner surfaces was reintroduced with the 5.0L models. Note that the introduction of the E-diff with the 5.0L required the rear wheel offset to be changed, so they won't fit the 4.2L models (unless a spacer is used, which is not recommended).
I think my wheels without spacers sat in further than those and look at Sean W new wheels without spacers. I guess it's possible those wheels could be a different offset than our Tamana's.
Dunno, looks kind of sunk in to me. Course different tires and different wheels can make a difference.

I'll take a look at my options because I'm wondering if 15mm will be enough. I'll run a straight edge up the tire to the fender and measure. Maybe some pics too. The Carelia's have a +49 back space. The Tamana's have +49 in front, +51 in rear.

15mm is not enough. You are running a 25mm "deficit" in offset with the new wheels. In other words you would need 25mm spacers just to get the new wheels out as far as the originals you had(26 off set vs 51). I apologize, for some reason I thought you had a 2010-up or I would have questioned you further when you bought the wheels from me, sorry! I don't want you to be dissatisfied with the wheels, so let me know if you want to work something out.
I forgot to add Wheel shamed no (because they do look great on your XK), but "Offset Shamed" definitely applies... LOL

So yes, I need a 20mm spacer to get me back to where I was on the Carelia's in the rear. No change to the front. never spaced just the rear or front alone so I don't know the impact, if any on the ride, stability, wear etc...

Thought it was 26 or 31, after checking all of them showing up on Ebay are indeed 31mm.
The dynamics in your case are simple to get back to where you were, leave the fronts alone since 49=49 and add a 20mm spacer to the rear, 31+20=51.
Once this is done, there will be Zero impact to the ride, stability, wear etc because you have put it back the Stock Offsets.
Now if you want to push it out further, I would do a 15mm front and a 35mm rear. This will get you to the look of everyone using 15s on there stock offset wheels.
Thanks Dave. I was initially thinking understeer but came to the same conclusion after thinking it through a bit. I'll probably just add the 20's to get it back to the stock look. I've been satisfied with it. I can always change. Thanks again for the reply.

Sean, I wasn't meaning to offset shame you, lol... just used you for a reference, but I too forgot that you were not 2010+... The wheels look great on your car just need to bump them back out a bit... You can look at pics of mine if you want to see what yours would look like with 20mm on front and in your case 35mm rear to equal my 15mm, if I'm understanding the offsets correctly...

Hehe, yep, I know. Poor attempt at humor on my part. I do need to space the rears out, not just for looks, but I just want to get back to stock. I've already ordered. Will post pics in the other thread when I get them on.
