Attention to detail I never noticed that; however, you're right, it certain does 'dull down' the shiny chrome look and looks 100 times better

I know you said you don't like the look of bead locks but I think the ones on the marketplace forum from the xkrs look great on that car and seem like a decent price with the new tires. Would be tempted if they fit the 07 to '09 4.2l's without spacers.

I also HATE cleaning (fake) beadlocks. That takes an extra hour at least to do them well.
The reason I'm even looking at new wheels is for the 'correct' size and zero spacers anywhere. Spacers mean the wheels are wrong.

I just looked at those ones.... I don't like 'em at all. PLUS, I will NEVER buy any Michelin tire again in my life since they tried to kill me.

I agree with you on many accounts…. except perhaps the one where the Michelins are charged with attempted murder
As for quality time…. you’re retired. What else are you going to do with all your free time…. rebuild another car for your son?
But I am glad you called out “spacers”. It is interesting to me how many swear by them… their cars are either hair dresser’s cars or heavily modified for track or slalom and a preferred scrub angle has been calculated. I like to DRIVE my car. A very slightly negative scrub angle works with my preferred driving style. And using spacers destroys that.
And yet, the marketing and rumor mill is that they provide a benefit. Weird.

I agree about cleaning the fastener area. I believe that the ones shown here are actual fasteners which somehow leaves a better feeling in my gut.
They are forged, I'm getting tired of being afraid of any little road imperfection with my sentas, when I finally find my forever jag it will be fitted with forged something wheels. Having the wheels straightened is getting boring.

You were around when that happened to me, I haven't brought it up for many years.
When tire treads with under 3,000 miles chunk apart in huge pieces down to the cord, that's pretty close.

There is nothing better than a well-optioned factory-built look.

One chick lives about half a mile from me with a blue 2015 'vert. Have another XKR in the shop in my back yard. Dude on the other end of town has a 2009 XK 'vert. Another guy several miles north of me I see at least once a month driving around in a black 2010+ vert. Crap-tons of X100s pretty much everywhere here, can't go a week without seeing at least a couple, and I don't get out much.
Regardless of all that, it's not for other people that I'd prefer non-OEM. It's for me. I've gotten new wheels for nearly every car I've ever owned.

I've seen ONE Lambo, zero Ferraris, two McLarens and pretty much nothing else as far as ACTUAL supercars. Many suburban housewives here drive Awfdees, but those are usually on the way in for repair. Shiny VWs, there. Ugh.

The chick down the road from me I first saw at the local Smith's Marketplace parking lot. She pulled in right after I parked my truck. I walked over to talk to the I presumed Dude and she seemed just a little scared. Older lady. I said something like 'Nice Jag, 2012? 2014?'. She then seemed a bit indignant and replied 'It's a FIFTEEN' in a snotty way. I replied with a "Cool. Sucks it isn't an R though" and walked away. I parked MY car next to hers a few months later. Hers was gone when I returned.

You're a bad boy!
I love the way you are provocativ!

In Paris I saw around 3 XK convertible since 2007... And 4 coupe...Although I'm often in the chic districts(you know, the districts where a basic apartment is around 1850$/sqFeet) it appears the car is really really rare in France.. The XK8 is far more common.
Even in my 120.000 inhabitants provincial hometown, I saw only 1 XK once and it was at BMW a car dealer...But I see Boxsters , Taycan, Macan,Panameras almost every time I go out for shopping.
Would really loved to know the XK/XKr production figures and spread .

It appears that I'm an idiot. At least that's how the poll turned out. may as well mark this as Resolved.
I'm going to wait a bit and find some higher quality wheels than the Jap Crap ones I posted. I'd still like to have something close to that style though. I will also use the posted size wheels as well as tires, or close to those.

Thanks to all who shared their ideas.
