In the "make you feel better" department, I too bought an extended warranty and have had $2800 worth of covered work done already (rear fogs, front bushings, one injector and coil).

Weather changes daily in Houston so check the forecast before you come. It can be 75 one day and 35 the next. In regards to dinner spots downtown, I am afraid I can't help you there... Don't make it down there too often.

Thanks PK4144....In the "not make you feel better" department, I have a extended warranty policy that cost me $3700 for 6 years/72,000 miles and now after 2 1/2 years I can't get my water pump replaced which would cost me under $800 if I paid to have it replaced out of pocket. Go figure! However, I will not stop pursuing this water pump replace regardless.

Why won't they replace it?

I have followed your other thread and that does suck, to be losing coolant and they cannot determine why. I believe you are looking for a water pump replacement as a preventative measure of a known flawed item?

I have seen something similar with the E63/E64 (2005-2010) BMW M6 V10 engine. It has a known weak spot in Rod Bearings, they fail as early as 50k miles. If caught early it is a $2000 repair, if found late results in catastrophic engine failure. The guys with aftermarket coverage would be covered only in the event of engine failure, they could not convince them to pay out for a preventative replacement. If I had the coverage I would drive it until the part failed and killed the engine and have them spend the $10k.

Wolfy, if you like Italian food, I can highly recommend Damien's on Smith St. in downtown Houston.

Just came back from a weekend opera trip to Houston. WOW I have seen more Jags in 2 days there than an entire month in L.A. Can anyone explain??
