New XKR Based Lyonheart
Have any of you seen the new $660k Lyonhart based on the XKR. I think it is absolutely beautiful.
Here is the url: Jaguar XKR-Based Lyonheart K Pays Homage to E-Type, Updates Vizualtech Growler E - Photo Gallery of Car News from Car and Driver - Car Images
Go feast your eyes and maybe drool. Reportedly only 50 are to be built and none to U.S. specifications.

I had a 66 coupe in the 2 seat configuration and we loved it. This seemed more along those lines where the 2+2 was higher in the rear dud to the rear seating. This is flatter and smoother. Great look in my opinion but the $600K is out of my range. Maybe if they labeled it as a Jaguar after a few years and the normal depreciation I could afford it , lol.

Eagle Speedster - The Most Beautiful Car Ever Made?
I'm not crazy about the Lyonheart K's headlights, the scoops in the front bumper and fenders, and the body swoop line.
To me, less is more.
I'm "Old School" and until now considered the Series I XKE to be the most beautiful car ever made. I thought that design was perfect and could never be improved upon until I saw the Eagle Speedster, which is now my favorite design. The changes are subtle, but make a huge difference. Here's the link to their website: Eagle Speedster // Home
Lots of photos on their website, and be sure to check out their Low Drag GT and the video: Eagle Low Drag GT - The Ultimate Grand Tourer // Eagle E-Types
And now the bad part - you can have one for a mere $1 million +!

One thing that I think is interesting about all of these cars is that I think they all look good with wire wheels. I had chrome wire wheels on my 66 coupe nd it just seemed to fit the car. At one time I saw a set on an XJS and I didn't like the look even though I didn't like the stock aluminum wheels on my XJS the wires were not good for a more modern styled car. Somehow I don't think they would look good on the newer XK's. Opinions?

I had Dayton knock-off wire wheels on my '60 Vette. They used a very heavy cast iron adapter with a splined shaft that bolted on to each brake drum. The wire wheel slipped onto the shaft and was secured by a 3-lobe threaded KO cap. Even though I used tubeless tires, I had to use tire tubes because the wire wheels were not air tight. And when I switched from 6.70-15 bias-ply Firestone 500 tires to radial-ply Michelin X tires I had to use radial-ply tubes. The Dayton wire wheels looked great but probably weighed twice as much as the stock steel rim and hubcap. I never noticed the adverse effect on handling because it handled like a '53 Chevy pick-up truck, which is exactly what the chassis was. That was over 50 years ago and Dayton Wire Wheels is still in business and I believe they still offer wire wheels for modern cars. But, from a performance and strength standpoint, wire wheels simply don't compare to today's lightweight forged alloy wheels.

It looks like they may be re-engineering the Lyonheart to base it on a later model (I assume the F-Type):
Due to emerging new technological platforms in the course of the engineering process, the management of Lyonheart Cars Ltd has decided to abandon the initial base vehicle and start over the engineering using the latest platform available.

I suspect they had second thoughts due to lack of orders. And, of course, after reading my post #17, above, and realizing that when it came to styling the Eagle ate their Lyon.
