New to XK's
Hi Everyone!
I need some guidance in what to look for in buying a Jag. I wanted to find out if there are problem areas with the 2008 XK model I should be aware. All input is greatly appreciated
Karl
PS I sold my boat, and using the proceeds...hope I'm going from the fire to the pan

No, there are no significant problem areas with the XK of 2008 - BUT
1) these cars require full battery voltage all the time so get a CTEK battery maintainer, install it, and use it whenever the car is not being driven. Otherwise, the 4.2 litre engine is practically bullet-proof. If the battery is more than 4 years old, replace it.
2) one other item: the drains for the AC unit can clog and the result can be water entering the passenger compartment - so it is best to make sure that the drain hoses have been dealt with (there is a very long thread on the AC drains).
3) on some cars used in very high heat areas and without the protection of screens and leather conditioner, the leather dash top can pull away from the edges. Examine the dash area; if there is no sign of this, you are unlikely to have a problem IF you keep the dash top conditioned and protected from the sun.
These are fantastic cars (very reliable, very fast, very beautiful, very luxurious) but as with any used car purchase, you need to consider condition and especially the service history.
