No-crank headscratcher -- 2008 XK

Working on a 2008 XK that was hit in the left rear, damaging axle, control arms, etc. Replaced all damaged parts, in the process (unnecessarily, now that I think about it) removing and reinstalling the caliper -- so I lost critical bodily fluids fluids! Suddenly, the car wouldn't crank. Couldn't believe it could be, but I had a low brake fluid level warning, so I bled and topped off the brakes, and voila! It cranked and ran like a top. But the brakes were soft, so I replaced the master cylinder. And again -- NO CRANK! So I bled the brakes again, and I got back a hard pedal, but still no crank. So thinking I hadn't been thorough enough, I bled them again, and went through almost two quarts, so I REALLY bled them. Still no crank.
I have the following warning messages: DSC Not Available, Not Able To Apply Park Brake, Engine Systems Fault. When I hold down the Start key and press the brake pedal, the "Press Brake When Starting" warning message does not go out. Gurus tell me I either have a bad ABS module or the brake pressure sensor needs to be reset. But I had an ABS module warning and DTC before the repairs; I cleared them and they have not reappeared. I also read on here that this combination of warnings can be caused by a bad TPS, so I've bought a new throttle body that should be here in a day or two. But it still seems to be connected to the brakes. Any suggestions would be VERY much appreciated!

Try pressing the brake pedal VERY hard. If you lose assistance you have to press on the pedal much harder for it to register that you are pressing it. Once the car starts it should go back to normal.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Should have mentioned that I've tried: sitting overnight, pressing start button first, then brake pedal and vice versa, hard reset (disconnect battery leads and hold together for a while), new battery, pressing brake pedal hard, procedure for resetting park brake (Press brake pedal hard five times, then press lightly, pull park brake switch, then push park brake switch). The one suggestion I haven't tried is pressing the brake pedal VERY hard. I'll try that today.
One guru said it has to be in the ABS module, BUT -- I was getting an ABS code before I replaced the speed sensor. After replacing it and clearing the code, I've had no more ABS messages or codes.

If you inadvertently pump the brake pedal, it will feel high and rock hard. The high pedal makes it difficult to make contact with the starter switch, so you'll have to stand on the brake pedal with both feet when you press the start button..
The simple solution is to press the START button BEFORE you step on the brake pedal.
Note that other manufacturers require that you step on the brake pedal before you press the start button. Jaguar works either way, but I find that my car starts much quicker when I press the start button before stepping on the brake pedal.
My Jaguar service adviser recommended this, notwithstanding the Owner's Handbook to the contrary.

When I had my 2007 LS460 (bought new) I sweared at it a lot, too. Somehow "The Relentless Pursuit of Perfection" skipped mine. Recalled for 48 defective engine valves; defective fuel rails recalled; windshield rattled; wind noise at driver's door unable to be fixed; main wiring harness defective. It was so long ago that I don't remember all the problems. It was a beautiful POS and the worst car I ever owned.
