I wish my Lotus had some of that foreign investment to improve its reliability...Sometimes I think I'm funding my mechanic's new shop.

What Lotus do you have?
The new ones are supposed to be better (with foreign money)

But no F1 constructors car is going to be reliable and inexpensive. Same is true for McLaren, Ferrari.

You still owe money for a lot of those races. Because you must have got a killer deal.
Owing a older Lotus or older Maserati is basically bragging rights at a party that you have one in the garage or the mechanic's garage.

I have a 2001 Esprit V8 Twin Turbo. It seems like we play "whack-a-mole" with issues; fix one, two or three weeks later something else pops up. A lot of the issues with it are that I don't think the previous owners did a lot of preventative maintenance and most of the issues are age related.
