Jaguar 2006 XJ8 Roof Rack
I messed around with Thule and Yakima dealers and all advised potential damage to the chrome around the windows.
Then I went to the dealer who offered a "Jaguar" rack complete with emblems, etc. and assured me that no damage would result.
I can only guess these are co-manufactured for Jaguar by 1 of the above mentioned Companies.
I have ordered the rack (under $200) and will advise its function after installation.
They also offer attachments for skis, bikes, etc.
Wish me luck

I have two racks for my XK - one is an Allen rack that mounts on the trunk and costs about $85 or so on Amazon. It's not that great, relies on straps that connect to the top of the hatch back and it doesn't seem to matter how hard you tighten down the straps, it still wobbles and it keeps you looking in the rear view expecting to see your pride and joy fly off on the freeway.
The second one I bought was the Seasucker Minibomber II. It kicks ***. It takes a few rides to overcome the fear of losing more than $10K worth of carbon fiber but, once you learn to accept the fact that the rack ain't going anywhere, you start to like it.
It's quick to install, quick to remove, and it is stable as can be. But you probably won't trust a word I say anyway lol

Doesn't embarrass me in the least. I get tons of compliments and inquires when I show up at the races like that. It's a great conversation starter

They do make a single bike rack that appears to work quite well and it has a much smaller footprint.

In days gone by this would have been a good joke something like "why the bike on the back ? Ans.: So we have transportation when we break down". LOL

Roof Racks for XK
I have spoken to Jaguar and they advise NOT to fit a window cill clamp style roof rack -- the KX is not designed for it.
However, for the occasional light loads over short distances that simply will not fit in the car I have used MP Essentials Soft & Secure Carrier Car Easy Rack Roof Rack (Max Load 65kgs) for Jaguar XK8 / XKR (1996-2006) - I bought mine from for GBP 30 (USD 50). It was great for moving a 5' x 4' framed photo and related items. The only challenge is the need to have the windows open and obviously no bikes.
