LOL, everyone is jumping to conclusions here. First off the pic was taking the day I lifted it up on the quickjack, and the wheels came off immediately. Those are actually my rear wheels with 1 1/2" spacers on it just to see the wheels stick out, was just for fun. Secondly if I was to store it with the wheels on, which im not, it wouldnt do any damage, at least not sitting there for just a few months. There isnt much pressure on the suspension, at least not enough to do any damage to ball joints, arms or anything.
The entire suspension is being removed and replaced, upper and lower arems, tie rods, rotors and breaks... everything.. This quickjack setup is to work on my car all winter, thats what its designed for so the car itself is staying up in the air until its complete.

The controversy of storing a vehicle with tires hanging is an old one. Everything I'vee read agrees with Ridicrick's claim that modern cars suffer no damage being stored for a few months over the Winter with wheels hanging.
I think the original concern of this practice related to whether the shock absorber piston seals might be damaged by being pulled too far up into the cylinders by the weight of the tires and hub carriers. Also many suspension components like control arm bushings are tightened down under load, e.i. the vehicle resting on the ground. The concern was that storing the vehicle with wheels hanging could run the risk of those components gradually twisting around to the 'hanging position'. If this occurred, I doubt there would be any permanent damage, and that one could simply loosen the joint, then re-tighten same with the weight of the car on the ground.
Good points. My wheels are off so luckily I wont have to worry about it. Although all suspension parts are actually being replaced anyways. Im sure my lowering springs took a good toll on my suspension already. My ball joints were completely shot, as bad as they can get.

Very nice. Welcome aboard!! That is a '10 or '11, correct? You will enjoy it. Suggest you add the model year and anything special about your XKR to your signature; it will help other members of the Forum to be responsive if and when you have any questions.

2011 XKR 175 - I will look into adding to signature - thank you.
I reallly didn't want another show car. and no I don't keep it covered all Winter. I was planing another Road Trip, but then it snowed.
I'm across the river from you but mine is in the garage up on it's lift waiting . It will melt fast with the weather changing. I've got about 7" over here so far. Oh don't worry your car won't melt. Spring will be here soon enough. I got 6 weeks before my golf league starts so enjoy.
Hello all! New to the site, and new Jag owner. i just got my baby a month ago, a 2014 XKR. FIGURED I would show some shots here. Havent done too much to it, simply tinted the windows, power coated the rims black, and added my system. Let me know what you think!
