Cross posting but figured it was interesting to see the x100 next to the x150.
I was cleaning out the garage and had cars out of the way, and decided to take a picture of the XKRs together. A lot of times when you see a newer version of a car next to the older, it shows the inadequacies of the older car. The x100 and x150 look related but I don't feel the newer car makes the old look worse; I think they're both beautiful in different ways.
That massive hulk next to the X150 is an 05 Nissan Maxima, so I guess it's the banana for scale in this scenario.
I am curious how an XJS would fare for scale. I think men can drive Miatas too, but I bet they aren't thrilled that I find their cars adorable. I just think they're too hyped now so you pay a lot for what you get compared to Jaguars. Miata Isn't Always The Answer.
GGG, I've been considering adding a CGT for years, having driven 2 earlier examples (an 06 coupe and and 08 Convertible). My concern is various possible negatives compared to Jaguar ownership; obviously the duh is more money, harder to work on, insurance, etc. Your experiences having owned both, I'd be curious to hear your opinions on living with these cars if you wouldn't mind sharing!
Nice cars and pics for sure! You have beautiful taste .

Where Jaguar build quality has improved over the years, Bentley quality has gone the other way and taken a serious down turn under VW ownership. My Continental R was a marvellous piece of engineering. For example, take the door card off and the inside of the door was finished to the same standard as the outside. The Continental GT (admittedly selling at half the cost) is really a glorified VW Phaeton and not built to last. Nevertheless, a superb car to drive but a used example as a potential purchase would have to be examined VERY carefully. Service history is even more important than it is with a Jaguar and only a Bentley Dealer or marque specialist will do if the value is not going to tumble.
Running costs are in a different league. The GT drinks about 50% more fuel than my XK though the performance is well worth it. Servicing costs 2 to 3 times as much but it's repairs that can really bite. To replace a starter motor - the engine has to come out!
The electronics are even more complex and less robust. The GT has 2 batteries and still needs to be on a tender if left for more than a couple of days.
Back to the plot of a 'picture post thread. here's mine that was delivered yesterday...so no scenic pictures as yet...never thought I'd own a white car!
And after a bit of a clean a set of MPS4s's and my new wheel nuts
Maybe its the angle, but the tires seem a little narrow for those wheels, could maybe have gone with a wider tread?
The Vortexes take 255 front and 295 rear as standard. You can go to 265 front and 305 rear without issues. I think I can just see 255 on the photo, so that's the standard front.
I think white shows off the clean lines of your XKR best! You'll find it a little bit harder to keep clean of bugs but dust is significantly less noticable than other colors. I was hesitant when we moved from dark grey to white between our 07 and 12 models but am now convinced we made the right choice.
More pictures please.
