A buddy just bought an E550 Cabriolet and did a Renntech tune and exhaust on it. My Lord is it fast; too much so. He added Pilot Sports, but I do not feel so safe with that car drops the hammer. Beautiful car that is great with the top down. Good rear passenger room, nice size trunk. All well executed. One thing it did not need was an additional 150 hp that he added... Now he needs better brakes, lol...

2+2 does not have to have a "real back seat". It can be the same as the XK's, which is fine for its intent. If you really need to have passengers back there; these cars are not that. They're great for what all use them for; not much else.
I do like have some kind of room behind the seat, even if it's just token space.

I like the *almost* unusable back seats, great easy access cargo area, and *can* be used for extra passengers in need, yet, you won't be asked for the extra passengers unless it really is needed. Perfect.
As soon as I noticed the lack of them in the F-type, I stopped looking. The 911 or DB9 would be the remaining choices on the market, but both are a much higher $$$ car than the XK was. (If you wanted to select the options to get a 911 to similar standards as the XK, its about $25K on top of base).
No new Xk will help stabilize depreciation as there will be no new Jaguar model to displace it, but I doubt it will appreciate beyond what it costs to keep a driving one running over the next 30 years.
I'm 6' 2", and found the back seats of the XK quite a bit more comfortable than the 944's. I've never had to carry more than 2 in the XK yet, but there have been times over the years with the 944 where its been quite handy to able to accommodate young ladies in need.

If aston Martin do it with the vantage and DB9 why can't jaguar
Porsche do it with their 911 and Cayman
Both these brands are highly respectable and I do not see credibility being lost at all
The reason I have the 2+2 is so my wife and two little children can enjoy the Jaguar experience with me on the open road

I could not have purchased the F type due to the lack of rear seats for my 2 under 10 year olds. Non starter. The XK was the very best option for me when I compared to all the others. Way better looking than similarly priced alternatives and financially attainable vs Maserati or Aston Martin. And that glorious Supercharged V8 sound! The 2 plus 2 format is still needed at Jag in my opinion.

At first I was disappointed that the Ftype was a 2seater and that the xk was over but it obviously keeps the price and nitch there for the xk for many years to come. Eventually jag will make a new GT but it doesnt have to be in the next decade. Also a 2+2 could use an extra inch or 2 without getting too big.
