Oil in antifreeze 2010 XK 5.0

Hi again from Bobby in KC.
Testing my forum savvy here with I bigger issue:
I discovered this shortly after buying my (surprisingly affordable)
2010 5.0 Jaguar XK
After smelling that sweet tell tale aroma of antifreeze and quickly
ruling out the heater core, I turned to the Internet. (Antifreeze
smell with no visible leak)
It seems the oil cooler can go bad and allow engine oil to contaminate
the cooling system. This in turn breaks down the plastic components,
hoses and o-rings.
Next stop, my local jag dealer for some parts. Replacing the y connector
and thermostat housing was fairly easy.
Here comes the lesson and plea for wisdom!
Obviously I should have replaced the oil cooler first. I didn't because
it was $600 from the dealer.
Now the issue is in desperate need of repair. I have purchased a cooler
and gasket. I'm researching how to flush the contaminated cooling system.
Prepared to replace lots of plastic and rubber.
Thoughts?

Oil in coolant is at least a better situation than coolant in the oil. THAT would be bad, and usually at least a blown head gasket. The contaminated oil is not much good for lubrication, so the bearings would go away next.
DID you check your oil to make sure it doesn't look like a milkshake?

That is most likly the oil cooler. They do fail both internally and externally
the best thing to remove oil residue in cooling system is dawn dish soap. We use this at work. Any soft squishy hoses should be replaced. But if not much oil and not long you may have no long term damage. Drain and flush cooling system with water to get initial contaminants out. Poor dawn in and water and run. Do it a few times till looks good. Keep in mind that you still may have residue that collect in reservoir and you can just wipe that out
