They said the $407 is not parts just a baseline labor costErick said it would be about $1000 for the front and $1000 for the back which is rotors and brakes. Still shocking cost $2000 for brakes. I will be doing it myself even if I have to get my parts from Autozone/advanced auto.

‘’I’m a little concerned about doing the lower control arm bushings and have been reviewing the manual but no time like the present to get personal with her....now where to get the correct parts.

I don’t have a local shop, it was a nightmare getting Candy to Nashville then I took a ride, bus then Uber just to pick her up. Nashville Jag is the closest Jaguar dealer who is the only mechanic service that works on foreign cars in this whole area; I’m currently in Clarksville working on a destroyed rental house.

I usually work on all my vehicles myself; safety and trust issues, but I just bought her and all the coolant lines burst, I was distraught, yes, a little overwhelmed with it. I searched for parts, but couldn’t even get the coolant locally. I’m going to ease in on my personal knowledge of her with the brakes then to the bushings. I’ve been reading all of the XK discussions and have been searching for brakes. The ones on her now grab and are extremely touchy but I drive fast so do like that they do stop us.

M Clarke, this is an oil thread. I think we could be most helpful if you started a thread yourself with the correct topic. In your case, one for Brakes and one for control arms. Or do a search on those topics and revise a brake thread. You also posted questions in the "What did you do to your X150 today?" thread that seem related to your comments above. We can help you with parts etc, but your posting in the wrong threads. Just a thought.
