The last time I did an oil change on my '08 XK was last July, so I tend to forget little details; having said that, you raise the front end and remove the rear belly pan by taking out 4 small fasteners bolts. Once removed it is easy access to the oil drain plug and to the oil filter. Should take no more than 0.5 hours in a home environment.

I thought there was some "mis-information" floating around on how much oil the 4.2 V8 takes? Not saying it is not 7 quarts
