Default oil sump plug washer

Anyone know the size of the oil sump plug washer or part number for the XKR 2008? They are on back order locally and can't give me an ETA.
Thanks.

The complete drain plug with seal for the X150 is:
4.2 litre - P/N AJ83017
5.0 litre - P/N AJ88461

JLR do not list the seal separately and both drain plugs are currently showing as out of stock. All the usual sources are showing "subject to availability" which suggests more of us will have similar difficulty finding replacements.

This aftermarket supplier shows equivalent drain plugs for both types:
4.2 - https://www.sparepartstore24.co.uk/12831606-triscan
5.0 - https://www.sparepartstore24.co.uk/7869678-fa1

Digging further into the same website returns the seal for the 5.0
https://www.sparepartstore24.co.uk/j...in-plug-gasket

This gives the dimensions as:
External Diameter: 22.4mm
Internal Diameter: 13mm
Thickness: 3mm

Unfortunately, I can't find the equivalent for the 4.2 listed there. However both plugs are M14 so the seal could be identical. If you are completely stuck for a seal, it's not going to cost a fortune to source one to these dimensions locally and give it a try.

Thanks GGG. I'll get some M14 crush washers just to get out of trouble.

Please let us know how it goes. It's always annoyed me to throw away a perfectly good plug when all it needs is a new washer.

I've re-used the same plug and washer several times now. I don't see the point unless the washer is totally flattened or coming apart. Never had a leak or issue.

Do people really replace it every time??

I've not in my life even removed the sump pan drain bolt. No one else has either, at least as long as I've owned my car, over seven years now.
I like my sucker.

try the ford dealer, maybe they have an engine that uses an m14x1.5 drain plug. most of them are m12x1.75

Well yeah, but you’ve got a 5.0 and don’t have to get under it to change the filter either.
Replaced the drain plug on my 4.2 (and the other cars in the family) with a Fumoto valve.
No more washers to replace, just turn the little lever, and out comes the oil.

Yes.. Me too. I've been going for the extra bucks and letting Jaguar take me over the coals to have the oil sucked out. No plug or washer shortage issue here, just lighter pockets.

There appears to be a FORD part number for these: 1 005 593

https://www.ebay.com/itm/171286130407

Might be worth asking a local dealer.

Both come up as the same item if you look at aftermarket cross references and they are also used on many other cars (Ford, Volvo, Citroen, Peugeot, Mazda) including Transit vans! They cost peanuts and will probably be available decades to come
