Default once more into the breach, Instrument Cluster Hazy

Im getting this car back in shape 1 frigging thing at a time.

Today, the question is if I pull the cluster is there anything I can do to clean up the haze in the center display. Pic attached If I guessed it looks like somebody tried to do something but failed. Not me.

BTW, installed the new Fuel Pressure switch. Noticed no difference in operation. Eh, at least its fixed. $18

Oh and I fixed the AirBag Light as you may notice

The centre display on yours looks done (I’ve seen quite a few like that). You’ll have to replace the cluster and that’s tricky and requires SDD.

I believe that screen can be replaced. Mine was dim so I followed Ranchero50’s instructions in his famous thread to disassemble. I had found a replacement screen on eBay. Turns out mine was a damaged wire connection so I still have that screen somewhere…

Thought about that. Read somewhere that if all the steering wheel controls worked then it wasnt the clockspring. But I defer.

Can you change the clockspring without the special tool ?
