over heated

What if any symptoms is the engine now displaying?
Is it seized?
Does it start?
Is it blowing any smoke? If so, what Colour?
Is there any antifreeze getting into the oil? (Milky coloured oil?)
Is it making any strange noises? Knocking?
Is there any lack of power?
Is there anything unusual about it now that wasn't there prior to over-heating?
How long was it running after getting too hot?
Is it using excessive amounts of oil?

How hot did it get, how long did it run WHILE hot, did everything smoke when shut off, does it leak anywhere, is there a 'milkshake' type of sludge in the oil, is there oil in the coolant, does anything look hot or melted did any coolant lines rupture/disconnect, did any freeze plugs pop (does this thing have freeze plugs?), did you refill/flush the coolant and try to run it again, does it make any weird noises when running again (AFTER a refill), did/do any DTCs pop up, does it have any different driving characteristics while driving post-vs-prior...
Tons of info is missing here.

Was running 75 on the turnpike when steam came from under the hood and temp light came on. shut er down and had it towed. 50,000 miles. It will crank but wont start. coolant bottle was empty. took oil cap off, clean as a whistle. no milky look. No dip stick so cant see oil. Gonna drain oil this week end. If its a head gaskit or what?

Yep, all three OP posts in this thread.
Ya know, it sort of is the job of this forum to help newbies with their car problems. Just because the OP doesn't want to maintain a 'relationship' with a forum doesn't necessarily mean that he doesn't need/like it.
We provide a service!
I'm also in the F150 forum (also by IB) and I have very few posts in there. There is a LOT of good info in that forum as well, but there is just SO MUCH OF IT. Some threads have 25,00 posts and comments. There are over 500,000 different threads, and that was before I got past Page One.
It would be nice to have the OP here post a resolution or close the thread out, but at least it gets the rest of us to use our brain-holes a bit.
