Parking aid button missing - possible to add?
Hi,
In my XK 2009 5.0ltr coupe, I do have front parking sensors (they become active when in reverse and just before contact in Drive) but the button to activate them normally in Drive is missing.
It seems very weird, has anyone heard of something like this?
Is it possible to add this button and if so, how expensive is it?
Is it a DIY?
If I have the sensors I wouldn't suspect to have to code something with SDD
Here's what I have on ceiling:

@Brachacz from the service manual... "The control switch is only fitted to vehicles with front parking aid sensors."
If you're saying that you have the front sensors, that doesn't really match up with what I'm reading. Is it possible that the front bumper was replaced at some point? Maybe they pulled a used bumper from a vehicle that came with the front sensors, but yours didn't originally have them?

As a caveat, I've tried to post this

@bgpenguin21
Thanks for the part name.
I read through the manual start to finish so I had the same wtf moment.
It may be the case that the bumper was replaced - at some point after I bought the Jag, I noticed that the front bumper had been repaired, only visible in certain light and when perfectly clean.
Digression:
Additionally, there was an airbag warning light initially - airbag module has "??????" instead of coded VIN when inspected with SDD, also it doesn't let the actual VIN to be coded - an indy tried that after checking.
The guy I bought it from told me that this error was related to weak battery and it would go away after some miles, it only got away after it was reset in SDD, didn't come back again. It's been ~4 months now, a lot of starts and I had passengers so I suspect Jag's internal checks would've picked that up if something was still wrong.
The "??????" was somehow related to passengers seatbelt tensioner but can't really remember what exactly, in the end they told me that if this error comes back, I need to replace the tensioner.
Takeaway from digression:
Something did happen with the car and the question is, is it the original bumper that's been fixed, is present and has the sensors OR is it an entirely new bumper with sensors that was cheaper because it was repaired.
@Cee Jay
I updated the info, it's 2009
The other option, however less likely is that the panel was replaced.
I started to think it was a quirk of the first MY of 5.0, ie they included the sensors but forgot to place the proper panel.
I don't have the spec sheet so I don't know if the sensors were originally there. I've never seen a 5.0 without sensors though.

Photos with the repairing place visible, passengers side, right next to the lamp, above the grill.
It shows up as a "bulb" but in reality it looks like 2 "3d stains" that were painted over and are "lower" than the rest of the bumper by the thickness of original paint.
Very hard to capture without making a video in just the right light.

If anyone's curious, by some sheer luck I've been able to get the top lighting panel assembly (part numer 239777) with the park aid button but without home link buttons (and module) from year 2005.
Swapped them and parking aid button works as expected although front sensors still react noticeably later than other cars I've ever driven (about 60cm from obstacle which all in all is enough; first reaction is weirdly in the middle of the scale though).
I can't seem to find even a photo of these 2 features being available on the same panel so the grand mystery may be that the car was specced with home link (portfolio) and it just came with a tradeoff of not having the sensors button.
If the panel wasn't held together by plastic "welds", I'm 99% sure I'd be able to frankenstein them together.
Since home link never worked with contemporary gates (which require access to locked box to program) anyway I went with the parking aid sensor.
EDIT:
Found version with all the buttons.
We will never know then 😄
