I recently purchased a 2007 XK convertible with 32k. The car has a salvage title due to a flood in 2017. I got it at a fair price and thought I’d take a flyer on it. After 3 months everything is thumbs so far. It is just so much fun to drive. I really enjoy going to our kid’s place in the mountains in Colorado for a drive that affords beautiful scenery with a challenging road.
When I bought the car there was a tear in both the bottom and top leather on the driver’s side seat. The passenger side looks great. The owner said he had replacement covers but when I took it to an upholster, he showed me that it wasn’t exactly the same. The car has caramel leather with white stitching, the replacement has black threads. Also, the side is slightly different.
I then went to the Jag dealership and showed it to the man in the parts department. He couldn’t find what vehicle it belonged to and neither could Jaguar USA after he called them.
The information reads on the label:

Needless to say, I have spent hours searching on the internet without any luck. Any insight would be very appreciated. I would also like to give a big thanks for all the great posts here. I constantly came here for knowledge about my other Jags in the past and of course my latest one.
The seats were manufactured for Jaguar by Lear Corporation at their auto trim factory in Jaroslaw, Poland. Seats arrived complete at the assembly line - they were not trimmed by JLR. When you see video of the Jaguar line, components are all matched to the correct vehicle using bar code scanners to read the manufacturers labels. The numbers on these labels rarely ever bear any resemblence to JLR P/N's.
No one outside the Jaguar factory or the seat manufacturer would ever need to know what they mean. The only way you are likely to get an answer is contacting Lear Corporation in Poland.
Can you post a picture of the front side of the covers? I am wondering whether they are for a 2010 MY or later car based on the X159 bit (2009 on X150?).
Other parts I have found with that prefix are for the later models anyway, e;g; indicators for door mirrors, and there was a caramel with warm charcoal stitching option on those cars which would match the LUX and CHAR in the code.
With your help, I think I have figured this out. My seat cover is for a 2010-2014 XK. In researching Goggle images I can see the changes made when the model received an update. The areas of perforations are different and they used dark thread after 2009.
Aside from aesthetics, I think the major change in the later models (2010-2015 USA) is Jaguar added air cooling to XK seats. I have owned an 08, 10, 12 and 13. The first three were XK verts and the 13 is an XKR vert. I don't think the 08 had air cooled seats. Therefore probably no perforations.
