Default Parts Purchasing

New to the forum and just purchased an XK8. What are the best companies for replacement part purchases in the US?

Congrats on your 2001 XK8, but you're in the wrong Forum. This is the X150 Forum, for 2007-2015 aluminum body XK/XKR models. Your 2001 XK8 is the previous version, known as an X100, and that Forum is here:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/

As for parts sources, there are several Forum sponsors that sell parts and offer discounts to Forum members. You can also Google "OEM Jaguar Parts" and compare prices from those sources.

I've just been told Welsh Enterprises won't allow a return on a part purchased form them last week that isn't working. Avoid Welsh Enterprises.

If you paid with a credit card, you can dispute the charge and hopefully get a refund. But you must follow the procedure that is specified by that card issuer.

Already reached out to AMEX, but if a part isn't working......

Did you order a non-working part? Of course not. You ordered a part that turned out to be defective because it didn't work as it should. So, you didn't get what you ordered. That's a valid reason to dispute the charge, unless the vendor expressly and conspicuously sold it "As-Is", with no warranties and no returns.

Even if it's a valid reason for a return, you still have to meet other requirements for your dispute to succeed. Here's a good explanation:

Good luck!

Welcome Peter; Congrats and good luck with your new car.
I have a '99 XK8 Convertible Base Model. I have bought many parts off suppliers on eBay. Have not had any problems since I got the car 3yrs ago. This includes timing chain, guides and tensioner kit, coils, injectors, water pump, parts for a complete front end rebuild etc. eBay has a dispute policy where they will help to get your problem solved with a supplier.
Here are other suppliers I also use.
shop@soughtout1.net; 480-203-8091 (Jim). He deals in high quality used parts. Prices are very very reasonable.
Foreign Auto Computer 800-241-6689. They can rebuild any of your control modules. Great customer service. Fair prices.
SNG Barrett
Hope this Helps
Mitch
