My car phone microphone sucked...people rarely heard me well enouph to use it......Dealer replaced it with a mic on the drivers side pillar( are the 08/09 versions mounted there?)....1000% better.....can talk and be heard at speed with top down....thought I'd pass it on in case others were having issues.

 

Yea my 2009 XKR Portfolio has it on the drivers side pillar. As you sit looking out it is on my left hand side and works very well.

I thought that was the case...so if any of you guys dont have mic on the pillar, I highly recommend it...made huge difference for me anyway( warranty covered)

 

I had the microphone installed but I told them I didn'twant it on the pillar because it looks like a cheap aftermarket add-on. So theygot an extension lead for the microhone and installed it up behind the rear-view mirror. Works perfectly and has the advantage that passengers can also be heard in the conversation.

I was wondering where is the mic on my 07 XK, is it the black grill on the dash behind the wiper fobe? TIA
