Anyone got a tidy / minimal phone mount in there car? I've done a good search on here but not much is coming up. I'm thinking something stuck to the ashtray https://www.mobilefun.co.uk/nite-ize...-car-kit-70483 and having the phone in landscape, anyone done this? Not keen on obscuring controls so CD slot is out. Windscreen looks too steep to attach there. Any ideas very welcome.
Just a question here, but why would your phone be anywhere else but in your pocket (or purse) when driving?
And, why on earth would you want to clutter up a gorgeous interior with stick-on doodads that are just plain ugly?
Try this. I have a similar one that uses clamps to hold the phone but it still connects to the CD slot. Very stable. The magnetic one would be more minimal. It just requires a small magnet (included) that attaches to your phone. It can be put on the back (inside) of your phone case. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I 100% agree with you but I've got so used to using Android Auto on my phone and it's saved me so many times with the live traffic updates that I'd love to get a tidy installation in the XK. But, yeah, not keen on any solutions I've found. Hence the question I guess.
I did this, mostly for the OBD2 Torque stuff, but it also opens up a LOT of other possibilities. Google Maps (including Nav), and whatever else Android can give you. Add the Touch-Screen Controller and you have a never-ending Android on your OEM Jag Touch Screen.
I'll probably do the TSD controller come spring, when blessed warm weather returns.
Edit:
Don't be scared of any/all tech-looking stuff, it's actually quite easy.
